Bumble expired conversation reappearing?

I am new to bumble and don’t quite grasp it yet. I am a girl. I swiped right on a guy and texted him. After I did, a message saying he had 24h to respond appeared. The 24 hours passed without him answering and the conversation/match therefore disappeared. A couple days later I reopen the app and there it is again, saying he has 10 hours to answer to my message. However, I get no message saying that he extended his reply time etc. what does this mean?

Its set so the woman gets to do the swiping. Then there is a 24 hour clock to send text. The guy can extend it just before the deadline ends. This means he is giving you another chance
