How do I get motivation? Results!
You see, after every week, your body is in a bit better shape & next week, you'd lift heavier and run faster/longer. THAT! That's the source of motivation. Let the results make you an addict.
Skipping some days are okay. Push your body, but not your mind. If you don't feel right, don't go, be happy. But don't make cheating your habit. I skip ~4-5 days per month.
And it's not all about motivation, you gotta love what you do, otherwise you'll leave it eventually.
Good luck :)18 Reply- +1 y

@Swedgirl Functional training help you in mobility and stability. It kind of same as circuit training I guess. Great fat burner. Check this video out https://youtu.be/46aOo_VlkaI
I used to do ab workout twice a week but my trainer changed my schedule and replaced one day with functional training. It is extremely exhausting.
Weight training :-
1st set - 15 reps
2nd set - 15-12 reps
3rd set - minimum 12 reps till failure
Increased weight on each set
Ab workout :-
Three super sets of fifteen reps. 4-5 different exercises in each set. Change exercises in each set. Rest 1-2 minutes between each set.
No added weight on body
Functional training :-
I'm a beginner so I just do ~10 exercises randomly from the video above (whatever my trainer tells me) divided into three sets. 10-15 reps. I take rest of about ~3 minutes between sets. I'll do better this month.
Good luck :) - +1 y

@Swedgirl this is awesome. I wish I also had someone's workout schedule before I started. For the first three months, I had no idea what I'm doing. Then I changed my trainer. He told me that I'm doing something wrong. I should never do weight training for three consecutive days unless
I eat like a beast. That's why he added ab workout and functional training in between. And now, I'm getting far-far better results.
But those months weren't totally wasted. I used to do cardio in the morning and weight training in the evening. So, I successfully lost 3 inches from my waistline in 3 months.
Now, I go to the gym in the evenings and do cardio post workout for 10-15 minutes. It works as good as doing it on morning for an hour!
Start the gym and do your best. A little progress every day will get you the desired results.
The pleasure is all mine :)

+1 yI try to do SOMETHING every day. Like I take Friday nights off from the gym but I went for a walk with my girlfriend last night for some active rest. But I go to the gym almost every day, 5-6 days a week, unless it's a crazy busy work week or something, but I don't let it go less than four. On average I definitely go 5 or 6 days a week though. Actually about to go in a minute💪😎

+1 ySix times a week to be honest.
I'll have to always stay in shape since I'm doing modelling. Of course, your perfect gym week may vary slightly based on your goals and your schedule, but it’s all about having good fitness habits.
If you want results, you need to have a routine that you can stick with. I’ve seen so many people try to fit workouts in inconsistently, and it ends up being a waste of tim.
No matter what you do and when you do it, the goal should be to rock it, rest, repeat.10 Reply
+1 yAs of right now not much, I've been sick and I haven't been eating properly due to trays in my mouth however in a normal routine about 5 days a week.

+1 yTruthfully, everyday.
Even on my 'day off' I walk for about an hour or do some abs.
I feel grumpy if I don't workout everyday somehow.
When I first started, it felt hard to get up and go. After about 6 months, it became a need to workout.10 Reply- 699 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic.

It's getting harder now that I'm elderly. I religiously went 6 days. Now I sometimes go 5 & have to double up a day or two.
I have 3 pics on my PC I look at. When I don't go later in the day I hate myself for not going.
It's a lifestyle. Back in the day I use to drink. For a while now I've been going to the gym.

I'm addicted at this point. I don't feel right if I don't train 6 days a week. Not really a matter of motivation.. genuinely love training.
