Need advice on blood donations will it be too much hassle?

So I've booked to give blood at the end of the month. I don't like needles at all but will they take blood if I'm prone to fainting or throwing up. I really work myself up about them to the point I pass out. I want to help out as I have a blood type which is needed in my area but don't know if I will be too much hassle?

Have a cup of orange juice ready and you will perk right back up... I almost passed out when I gave blood last time, weirdest feeling ever but the lady in the room was like, "here, drink this 😒.." And I felt better right away.

They make sure first if your blood is safe to use. And you will be questioned about ur medical history and a psychial examination will also be done. But it`s unsure when you actually will donate the blood.

Oh right thanks it's probably not as bad as I think. My sister does it and they do a pin prick and test in the same day as the donation. It gets check then your told if you can have your appointment that day or not due to your blood being usable which is why I'm freaking out a bit.

Whatever you do, don't give blood without eating anything. When I was 18, I actually passed out because I gave blood on an empty stomach. Stupid, I know.
