Can tall girls be cheerleaders?

I want to be on the cheer team, but from what I've heard only the short skinny girls can get on.
I'm 5'10" and not skinny but I am losing weight. I know I can't be a flyer... but not everybodys a flyer so is there a different position I could be in?

Yes, they can. I'm 5'7" and was a cheerleader for several years. One other girl on the team was 5'8". You can be a base. It's all about your ability and your look/personality. If you have gymnastic ability and are pretty and outgoing, you'll have a great chance to make it.

Don't have a lot of experience with cheerleaders in Europe, but its the same as in acrogym. If you are lightweight and flexible, you are on top. If you are muscular and strong, you are below and tilt and carry.
