My body fat dropped a bit and I think it improved my endurance not sure what it did to my butt I got started off on insanity spin and at the from of the class so I had to keep up which made it most certainly a tough workout.
The gym instructor who persuaded me to start didn't exactly take it easy on me.

Depends... Are you going to train for a velodrome race or a "tour de" race.
Body physique for these two sports are significantly different.

No it doesn't because you're not moving your ass like you do with squats. If anything I think it could flatten it cause you're sitting for a full hour. Do some squats!
