Why don't people like fit people anymore?

Question

I have seen so many people say "I don't like muscle", "I want someone chubby", blah blah blah..
This goes for guys and girls. What's the deal? I think a guy with muscle (fit) is super attractive. Maybe not too much (where he looks like he's on steroids) but enough, ya know? Guys are seeming to have no interest in skinny or healthy looking girls anymore. What we used to call skinny/pretty back then is called "bones" and hated on these days, and what was once average is "skinny", chubby is "average", etc. Why is everyone more interested in fat?

Bonus question: Why is the term "fat" insulting if you're not using it as an insult, rather using it in general?

Are you sure you aren't just imagining something? Almost every dude I know prefers fit girls. It's probably some feminist body-positivity thing that's going on, trying to teach people how fat is sexy to make life easier for fat girls or something like that.

The answer to your bonus question: Your rights end where their feelings begin. If they are fat, but don't like it you are not allowed to say they are fat. But if you say they are fat, because they are fat, it's you who is at fault because you hurt their feelings by stating an obvious fact. Lazy cry babies they are.

We are a direct reflection of what thy never could be and that pisses them off to no end. It's much for these insecure people to say "Oh he must be stupid" "Oh it's because of steroids" "Oh he is just a meathead"

Instead of complimenting their hard work and recognizing it for what it is. What they are doing is actually a defense mechanism and they don't even realize it. THey are intimidating by people who look better than them.

everyone has preferences. I am not into muscle either but i like skinny guys and the ones that are just a little chubby. Muscles are okay anyways just not a turn on.
Also, healthy does not mean skinny or muscles, and most of people like others being fit and healthy and that means usually an average size.
Fat people have low self esteem so they're way more sensitive, we should help them instead of making them feel bad about themselves.

Lol no. Both guys and girls like fit people, it's a sign of a person with good health. Some guys think that "fit" girls are overly muscular and have six packs and stuff, they don't. Fit girls have toned bodies with flat stomachs & hint of abs. They don't look like they're on steroids.

Hating on people who are pretty fit has become more popular due to it being a convenient and readily accessible coping mechanism for those who don't have the means to put in more work towards increasing their health levels.

People say that because they can't have one. Put a decent ripped guy vs a slightly chubby one and see how many go for the cubby one. Hardly any would.
Most people are not fit themselves so its just natural to lie about their preference and justify your lazy ass. They also feel inferior in front of people with better bodies so they simply hate on them or lie.

Ehh, I just think that muscle looks weird, all bumps and ridges where it just looks abnormal to me for them to be. Not saying that fat is attractive either but yeah, muscle just isn't my thing, it looks and feels too strange. And I think people see fat as insulting even if you're not purposefully attempting to hurt someone because of all the negative connotations associated with it.

there is a lot of vanity these days which i find really shallow in some cases but there is nothing wrong with confidence coupled with polite.
Fat is insulting used in anger or a way to hurt someone, but as a observation i can't say its insulting but its still a pretty harsh word to use just the way it sounds really

I am not fit myself, therefore my lifestyle would greatly differ from someone who maintains a sporty lifestyle to stay fit. Not to mention a fit girl would most likely not choose a guy with my body type anyway.

I've never enjoy sleeping in the arms of guys as thin as I am. Muscle is good, but seriously cut dudes aren't my thing. More to them, but I need someone that has a good balance of fat and muscle. Those are my standards for men.

Because a lot of them are pretty arrogant. Like what happened with Dani Mathers of Playboy when she body-shamed a woman at LA Fitness via Facebook. Not an ounce of sympathy for Mathers when she was banned from the gyms and Playboy terminated her.
