Is it normal that my first day at the gym wasn't good?

sillyveraaa
So I'm almost 15 and I've been doing figure skating for about 6 years, but I got into bodyweight training in the last 2 years and it was not that serious, we had a trainer who gave us exercises to do (planks, abs, squats, etc) but we used to make them just once a week.

I'm almost sure I want to stop skating (for a lot of reasons) but I don't wanna lose the shape I got in these years so today I went to the gym and gave it a try. One of my bigger cousins happens to work there so he's the one who would follow me, give me advices and teach me everything (which is kinda awkward because it's not like we're besties or anything, so yeah).
Today didn't go that bad, he asked me what exercises I could already do and I had to show him. He said he was a little surprised because what I did wasn't that bad, that whenever he corrected my position or gaveme advices I understood them immediately, but I felt really dumb and just so unexperienced.
Also, I happened to almost faint because I didn't eat anything except lunch (I ate at 1pm, it was 7pm. I know. Stupid Vera) so he made me lay down and have some sugar and it was like super embarassing because I couldn't see sh#t and I knocked my forehead against a barbell. I'm such a mess...

Is it normal for these things to happen and for me to feel kinda dumb after today? Will it get better or is it always this hard? Damn...
