Anxiety at gym and worried about not seeing results?

hi so the past 2-3 years I’ve been trying to lose weight. right now I want to start exercising more as I need to add exercise to my daily routine to help me lose more weight , i love but I can’t go on walks as it’s way too cold and I freeze really badly. I want to sign up for gym, but I have really bad anxiety I have signed up to gym before but not been consistent I just end up sitting in changing rooms to avoid the business and I always end up cancelling my membership due to my severe anxiety , I live in a very small town so everyone uses this gym I see all the local people- everyone I used to go school with, mutual friends etc. I could try going gym before 8am because I genuinely don’t think that many people will be at the gym before 8am especially on weekdays but still I get bad anxiety some times I’m scared people will laugh at me or talk about me to their frisnds. I am sort of chubby and short and not someone that’s social. And I’m also have a fear of failure I’m worried that I won’t see progress within 1-2 months
