my sister, she is very strange, and always has been, she suffers very bad anxiety attacks, she gets overwhelmed by stuff so shuts herself in her room complains of lights being too bright sometimes or her eye sight being too vivid. she can sit watch things she's interested in such as videos about space or drawing techniques for hours, she is very forgetful all the time forgets simple tasks, writes stuff down to remember. repeats herself constantly, goes on about the same thing interrupts people when their talking, an can have childish "tantrums" meltdowns and cry get angry and again shut herself away, paranoid about trying new food to, doesn't like to look people in the eye, specially people she doesn't know. and i have found over shares her business with people she doesn't even know well. doesn't have many friends for her age, isn't the partying type either she's 24 but i known all her life something isn't right. As a child she was fascinated with lights, and bubbles in the bath would look at them an intense gaze, never seemed to understand other peoples feelings and at times comes across very selfish and immature. she was also badly bullied in school called freak, alien an weirdo, an would sit quietly an only talk to people she wanted to was very selective with friendships.. she is mentally ill now with severe anxiety and was in an abusive relationship, some of her friends are autistic too, would you say if any of these symptoms point towards aspergers or something?
I have adhd and ASD but never had issues with lighting. For me it has more to do with hearing and talking to other people that burns me out really fast. So then I have to go and stay in my room, it's normally worse if I don't sleep well and super sleepy. I used to love partying like crazy but then after having my adhd medication to help me notice things more. I'm not to crazy about it now along with other things.
Best thing is just for her to see a psychiatrist and have them see if she is.
