Why do people workout to get big?
To be continued
Here's a theory.
People become addicted to that initial BURST of progress.
When you start working out , you gain like 10-20, 30 lbs of muscles in a year , people look at their before and after pictures and start to think this progress would last forever , it's a sort of... euphoria , a high of progress.
But after a year or two , the gains start slowing down , maybe they gain like 5lbs...10lbs in the 2nd year. They start to become frustrated , they're not getting the satisfaction the honeymoon period provided , so... they start looking for little helpers to continue on that train of euphoria , then bigorexia sets in , rinse and repeat , a few years later you get people built like firetrucks
Bigorexia is in
Very true that's when one needs to maintain and have other priorities in life.
Well I personally love bodybuilding. It changes your life. A girl rejects you = lift weights. Mum pisses you off = lift weights. Lift lift lift. It does help with the ladies of course all eyes are in you. Beach figure = on point. Modelling = high chance of being successful. Seeing your body go threw from being a weasel to a Greek god? = amazing ! The pump you get is amazing. It takes years weeks to get your physique of greatness. The motivation required is far greater than most other sports. You can make slot of money from bodybuilding provided you make good use of social media success is mainly reputation ad popularity.
For your sake, I hope that's the only thing in you 😏. Anyways, makes sense, I guess. Most people, however, don't make money on social media via bodybuilding
Bodybuilding shows and use of social media just builds a stepping stone basicly gets you noticed creating possible modelling shoots or advertisement for bodybuilding parafanalia. I would even bother bodybuilding professionally unless I set up Adam page and created fitness videos. There are also a lot of body builders who enter these crap locals how's which if lucky they win tub of protein and a crappy medal lol. It's easier to build your physique for 4 years and go for more popular shows. But I find bodybuilding sure as hell helps with the ladies. But career comes before body without a good job you can't afford the physique as the amount of food and supplements you need costs more then your mortgage/rent lol especially when you get bigger the more you gta eat to maintain
Well it is considered a sport to some, and some people take a lot of pride in their work - in such a case, their large frame. Just because you can't see a point it is doesn't mean that in of itself is "worthless", some people are even able to make money off of it, and essentially a career out of it.
So really, there's the logic right there.
I'm talking about your average dude in the gym who looks like Brock lesner. Not a dude making millions... Like Brock lesner 😂😂😂. I like being on shape and working out, myself, but like I've said, I feel like it's fairly pointless unless you're doing something with it
You'd have to ask them. Chances are it's something that they enjoy, take pride in and feel is physically appealing. So, why not?
Well, I'm kinda hoping "them" would answer the question 😅. I live in Jersey and as much as the Jersey shore didn't help, there's a ton of dudes who are like this and I'm just like, "why?" 🤔
Bro i can guarantee you dont know what you're doing in the gym and waste time at the gym always looking the same. I've seen your type a million times and you all stay mirin.
It's exactly what RJ said. I do it because it takes an incredible amount of discipline and I get a lot of self satisfaction seeing my hard work yield something. Transforming your body gives you an amazing sense of accomplishment. Plus being huge in comparison to your average guy gives you a lot of advantages in daily life lol.
Yes bodybuilding is not really classed as a sport of such. There's no REAL competitive structure apart from looking better. You could all have amazing bodies but the ONE guy with that nice face may just too the ice bucket. Look at Arnold swartznegger nice body , but a nice face also and hair and personality which everybody liked. But majority of the money made is from modelling and advertisement. The shows are really a means to open up doors. I do think there's a lot of emphasis on "fitting in" , guys with woman = one BIG compitition the motto "curls for girls" is on point lol
@Keiran1995 At pro IFBB levels and Olympia it's pretty much genetics. That being said there is a lot of science and hard work that goes behind building an ideal physique. But yes it is under the structure is who looks better. What's behind "who looks better?" though.. A LOT.
I say this - if the majority of the population can be obese, why not all be buff lol?
@Keiran1995 I was going to bring that up as a joke, but I forgot 😂
@Fearless_banana lets all be buff ! One thing I would take into consideration though for myself is always keep that career going. To make a lot off bodybuilding it's either give your all or don't at all. It can lead to a lot of financial problems
@Keiran1995 I get all of my stuff for free including clothes. It can definitely get expensive though. This isn't going to be my career, that's why I'm at university lol. I'm going to take advantage of my 20s and continue to give it all I got though.
@Fearless_banana See? I know what I'm talking about sometimes. Lol.
@Fearless_banana on point , University + Buff body = serious pulling power my friend lol.
@rj Yes.. "sometimes" lol.
@kerian1995 Lol exactly.
@Fearless_banana You cheeky little cunt. Lol.
It is an outlet for a need for perfection or accomplishment. People who have an excessive need for perfection or accomplishment find a wide array of things, body building happens to be one.
Of course some guys just think it looks really good.
Nothing better than having big guns , tan. Nice hair and a super skinny short sleeve dress shirt. Looks on point lol

You dont know how good gains feel dude. And running increases your blood flow and it makes your lungs put more oxygen in your blood so you have more energy thus you are more productive in your life and you feel a lot better too.
You're Belgian,
Are you planning on becoming the new muscles from brussels
@Waffles731 if he got some speed, he'd be Mr hustle with muscles from Brussels 😂
@Waffles731 lol i wish.
Wothless? Looking tough , being healthy , can do what most people can't and it's worthless and it's also good for your skin and you age better
And besides when zombie apocalypse starts you're gonna need dat bod
Working out isn't worthless, working out to look like an mma fighter or running until you magically turn into an Ethiopian seems fairly worthless 😂. There's 2 updates for ya!
It depends on the person. For some it is to achieve something most of the human can't do. Body building is not as easy as some people think. However their is the professional asshole who uses it to assert himself above others. I remember a situation when a idiot felt it was his right not to pay the bus fare and he started flexing his biceps in the face of the bus driver. What a balloon head.
Why do people waste money making their cars faster when they can't ever truly push it to the limit? Because they want to and it makes them happy. Does any other reason need to be had?
Who knows about the cars 😂. It's a pretty decent hobby, although I don't know shit about cars. Anyways, I guess so. I mean I loved doing track, but once it was over, it was over. God knows what I would do to be able to jump 6'6+, over 25' and run half as fast as I used to, but given that in no point outside of competing would I need to do that in any point in my life outside the off chance I'm being chased by a mountain lion 😂😂😂
I guess if you do the body competition thing its useful, or like you are a personal trainer (when its basically advertising). 28 inches is excessive though.
Strength is always useful! Moving furniture, working around the house and garden, playing sports...
It's also good for your health, a stress reliever, and fun!
i love fitness and to workout. its like a addiction to me. and its pretty healthy too
I like working out. Especially mom traditional methods. Like pushing cars, flipping tires, stairs, you name it. I'm just talking about the dudes who walk around looking like Brock lesner
Well I did it out of pure anger, I needed someone I hate to push me through the gym workout. The fact of even doing it was being called a noodle. Now that I don't care at all I don't see any incentive in doing something I am not actively looking for
Thats because I feel more manly and self confident. I love to live this life and follow this routine.
Personally, I want to get big because I hate being so damn skinny. 28 inch biceps sound quite excessive though lol.
vanity. Personally I don't find it attractive. A versatile body is attractive in my opinion
Of course a body doesn't win a girls heart but it may grab her attention lol
@Keiran1995 not this girl unfortunately
not every woman is attracted to that. but the majority is. I yet to meet a man who every woman in the world is attracted to.
Muscles are considered aesthetic nowadays. Probably why an average guy would get into weight lifting. I think it's pretty normal.
Because we enjoy it. You sound really insecure.
Trust me, I'm not. I could care less. I'm still in relatively good shape, actually. But thanks for playing, bruh!
Then stay in relatively good shape.
@HulkkSmash again, I want exactly a slouch. I was a decent football player in high school and was high recruited in track and field in multiple events. You don't just wake up being good. Lifting isn't fucking rocket science 😂. I lift to stay in shape, not to have muscles I'm never going to use 👌. Also, let's not bother RJ
You're right but people make it seen like it is.
You said you lift to stay in shape. Unless you have a set plan, you're wasting your time. You might as well be a treadmill bunny.
Lol, I workout 4 days a week. Lowers and back Tuesday (high reps)/Friday (low), uppers and abs Monday (low)/Thursday (high). Off day on Wednesday and weeknds (football). 1/2 warm-up at 2:30 pace. Not fucking hard. Don't make it sound harder than it needs to be. Again, stop making it sound like fucking rocket science. Get off your high horse. It's not fucking difficult
Where did you find this routine?
Can you bench 1.5 your bodyweight? Squat x2?
Lol! Bruh, not that hard. I'm not even big and I can do that. I just don't bench because of my wrist got fucked up 😂😂😂
I just dont see how that routine works. Lifting isn't rocket science but people make it seem like it is. From how you explained your routine it doesn't seem like you know what you're doing. And thats like 60%+ of people in the gym, who waste time and risk injury.
What's hard to understand? Also, the highs and lows should be switched
Running warm ups to get my legs going. 2:30 isn't fast, but not slow
High reps low weights for definition and get the lactic acid going and get the micro tears
Low reps, high weights for strength
Monday is arms and abs. Personal preference high first to get more def
Tuesday is legs to get my arms a break to recover and workout my legs. A lot of back exercise get grouped in
Wednesday is just a free day. Better than having 3 days rest
Thursday, my arms are recovered so I can see immediate progress from it
Friday is high reps low weights cause I have a bad back and leg stamina is more important for me than leg strength cause the legs are naturally stronger, plus I get more rest for my back on the weekend
If you constantly workout the same muscle groups every day, it impedes progress. Like in sports, you don't have hard practices every day
I literally can't see how you can't process this
Also, like I said for the 15th time, I'm not trying to get bigger, I'm trying to stay in shape. I also don't want to spend 50 hours a day on the weight room. 2 hours is good for me. And for the 800th time, my workout plan worked out well enough to literally be one of the top athletes in my craft so I'm pretty sure it works plenty fine
Because typically you train specifically strength or bodybuilding. You dont mix the two together.
What part of STAYING IN SHAPE doesn't compute in your head? I'm honestly curious
You can run to stay in shape. Why lift weights? People who actually lift (do you even lift?) Lift to gain muscle. Thats the point of lifting weights.
You said you're not in college doing track, so why do it for that?
Even though weight lifting isn't even that big in sports.
Because running is terrible for your back and knees. And I ran for 10 years of my life... I'm kinda fine not running anymore. Also, to run, it's a lot of upper body work so you might as well lift. On top of that, I like lifting weights. I just don't lift to get unnecessarily jacked
So again, why lift if you're not going to do it right. Your question is why do people lift to get big? That's what happens naturally when you lift weights effectively. If I wanted to go into the gym with no set plan, its no different then me turning on my car without having a destination.
I swear I'm talking to a fucking brick 😑. There's a plan... To stay in shape and be fit, especially so you don't get diabetes or another illness from poor j mouth. People do this. I do this. However, that's different than going to the gym and trying to get as big as an NFL player when you aren't an NFL player and your muscles are only going to be used for people seeing how big you are. If you don't have anything to else to add and still can't understand and agree going to repeat yourself, don't bother replying
Yeah I'm pretty much done. Go join a zumba class. My big muscles are from working hard, and working smart. Don't hate cause you dont know how to diet or program properly.
Alright, bruh 👌. Dude bragging about being able to lift his own body weight as some big ass achievement 😂. Like I said, when I get in shape, I do work to the tune of almost world class speed and skills... Not ogling myself in the mirror and pretending to be bigger than I am 😂😂😂
Deuces ✌️
I lift heavier than my body weight. Im so sure that you do. Im bigger than the average dude by a lot.
Peace.
It helps get swiped correctly on tinder.
