What are symptoms of Jaundice in new born?

My son was having fever in last week, though he is fine now. Is there any way we can predict by our own, without doctors help. Share if you know any.

Yellow tinge to the skin, yellow eyes.
If it's not severe, often doctors just recommend giving baby lots of sunlight. Safely so he doesn't get sun burn or overheat of course.

Yellow skin and eyes.

You can check if he has it by pressing gently on the his forehead or nose. If it looks yellow when pressed then he might have jaundice

you know any questions about a new borns health really do need to be asked to a doctor. glad he is fine now but in future if he gets even just a small rash get him to a doc

Yeah consulted with doctor as well. My baby had Jaundice after one week of his birth. Doctor said most of the babies undergo this during birth. Suggested to only breastfeed him, and gradually it will be cured.

I was little worried because he dint had yellow eyes, or skin just he had mild fever as per my perception but when we visited doctor he said its a Jaundice fever. May be because it was just starting we were not able see any yellowness.

Just feed the baby properly, breast milk is the best medicine for new born. Some times baby getting proper feed also looks pale and yellow. Babynology has an good article on Jaundice in babies.
