Trending & News My dad had an issue with gall stones a few years back. He's afraid of surgery because he thinks that automatically means he's going to die so he never had them taken out. I don't know if he ever passed them, but his doctor also recommended surgery and he seems to being doing okay without it.
Personally, I think if they're small then passing them and changing his diet should be okay. But if they're large and are causing discomfort then please have them removed. I don't know if your dad is a big guy, but it's common with a lot of overweight people, like my dad.
Encourage him to change his lifestyle. Losing weight, drinking water, eating healthy should be things he focuses on from this point onward.
Thnkx, had he surgery, eventually?
No, he still hasn't had surgery. It is possible that he's passed it, but he's made no changes to his diet so I know something else is bound to happen again.
With that being said, he hasn't had any issues that have made him hospital bound, but it is important your father takes his own health into consideration. Also, get other opinions from different doctors about the best course of action to take.
Doctors get a cut for every test they run, every drug they can prescribe, and for any surgeries they can get you to take. So be aware of this when deciding. Some doctors simply want money and not what's best for the patient.
Yeah i know about that, most doctors are so corrupt. My father had it for 18 years after 1st pain, now previous day it happened again.
If it's getting larger then it might be time to consider surgery, but I'm pretty sure there's a fluid he could drink or a medicine he could take to dissolve the stones and make them smaller to pass.
He should try asking his doctor about this option and maybe give that a try before going under the knife. Gallstones should be taken care of though. While they might not pose an immediate threat to your life, the main concern is them rupturing and poisoning the body.
So don't let them get too big.
Actually dr. Said that there are few little ones which are more dangerous. Did your dad drank alcohol?
No he doesn't drink, is that what caused your father's stones?
I also saw your update that you really want to hear something other than surgery. As I mentioned there's the fluid he could take to dissolve them. If they're small the fluid should take care of them completely. Other than that, that's truly the only other alternative I'm aware of besides waiting and hoping they pass.
No, i got many suggestions that alcohol will reduce the size of stone. Thanks, you are great help
You're welcome, good luck and best of wishes to your dad. <3
hi, feel sorry for your dad :( A mix of cider vinegar and lemon juice can help on a daily basis to help try to dissolve the stones naturally and for a more instant pain relief just the cider vinegar, i am studying as a master herbalist and milk thistle which could be tablets or tincture definitely springs to mind as does dandelion, you can buy dandelion in many forms however there is one of a coffee type substance which is if your dad likes coffee its nice with milk and brown sugar, hope any of this may help xx
Thank you so much, can you suggest some more?
I don't know dude if the doc has recommended surgery, it is probably the best way forward. Here is the seach page for natural remedies

It's sad to Say, @lazermazer, but my own Sibling had These... Gall Stones.
I had Told her that if the Doctors do Not take them Out, you will be Losing your Gall Bladder.
A year later, my sister was on the Operating table. And along with "Lazy Bowel Syndrome" which is Lazy Bowel Movements, she has been Facing problems for 8 years now with more Bowel problems, which the Doctors have Yet to figure Out.
Good luck and Nothing to toy with. Talk to Dad. xx
Tysm for sharing xxoo
Lol, he is so stubborn. xxoo
lol!! My dad can be, believe me. However, a few weeks back, we ALL urged him into going for Tests for something that we Found out is a cyst on his gall bladder!! Can u believe it? I am happy he went, now he can be checked On. I am reading if it gets worse with something, he would have to remove this. xx
Tysm, i will look into that xxoo
Lol, thnkx for sharing, as always xxoo
There is no other way. If it was a small gall stone then prescription medication helps it (my father had a small one) it's now in no harm to my dad and his better. If it's that big well you know my answer dude.. Doctor and surgery.. That's the two only resorts that I know and are effective
Most remedies I have seen are to prevent gall stones from being formed. I hate to say it but he might need them to be taken out.
Thnx

It's either surgery or you let them pass. That's all there is to it. Sorry.

Grated black radish mixed with lemon juice (unsweetened), and olive oil, he should eat one large spoon before every meal, for a period of at least ten days.
Will it help? Thanks
I hope it will, it helped my uncle, he also had gall bladder stone, and it was dissolved after couple of weeks.

You're welcome ;)
if the stones are smaller than the diameter of the urinary tract they can be peed out, the fact there's stones of the size 18mm makes me believe this will not be possible and it is extremely painful too. a surgery is the best remedy to remove them.
No home remedy for this. It will have to come out. You may find a doctor that provides laser blasting the stones, but the stones are typically a sign the organ is diseased...
You can shatter the stones with directed ultrasound, but it's very expensive.
Go to the ER right now! Mom had one and she needed surgery. I'm not being a moron you're being a moron for not going to the hospital.
And you didn't even bothered with description ๐
Nope Lol
Unfortunately, there are no home remedies to handle gall bladder stones. Either they pass on their own, or surgery has to be done to remove them.
Google... Google... Google...
That's your answer written 3 times.
Surgery or let them pass. Surgery may be the best option
Surgery might be the best option
I don't know any sorry.
Cranberry juice works like magic.
Any experience?
@lazermazer Yes.
What's that?
I'm a questionmark here too xD
Surgery
Or a fat free diet might stabilize, not cure it.
Update: you'll find quacks promising... quack remedies
