Ok so for the first time in my physical fitness life since 6th grade (now im a sophomore in highschool) i did a 9:54 mile time which made me so fucken happy because i never saw myself doing a 1 digit mile. I felt so proud but now i feel devasted because my pe teacher took our weight and height and told me that i need to do a 8:22 mile time to pass pe or else take it again in my junior year like doing a 9 minute mile wasn't that difficult but a bit challenging but i can't imagine myself doing a 8 minute mile. he had also told us that the more you weigh the less time you need to do your mile which makes no sense to me or to anyone else so maybe i should lose weight so i won't need a lesser time to run my mile. But im gonna try to run a 8 minute mile so any tips to improve?
Is there any way to cut to make it shorter? If not I would start practicing in your free time. The biggest thing is you don't want to get out of breathe cause if you do that's when your body gives up. So keep a slow and steady pace and eventually with practice you will be able to do it. You will look back and think the opposite of what you do now.

That is 12 km/h. Its a fast speed for a runner that is not specializing in training, but if you are fit, it should be possible. Certainly if its only 1 mile. Then you can go slightly anaerobic.
