My housing said they didn't get my rent. I sent it out the third the mail picked it up on the fourth and they still haven't gotten it yet I got a eviction letter I'm freaking out. How did they not get it yet & I have the money order receipt

Ok as a rule of thumb if your rent is due on the 1st of the month you need to put the check in the mail a full week before it is due.

Now what you can do is go to your bank ask them to print out a copy of the check you sent them and bring a blank check with you to their office. Inform them that there must have been a delay at the post but here is the copy of your check and if they require a check right then and there you can just write them one on the spot and call your bank to cancel the other one.

If you've got the receipt then photocopy it, you may need another copy for proof. Also ring your landlord or housing company up to talk about your situation, explain you've sent the money and have proof of doing so.
