How do I stop the pain from my wisdom teeth?

I got them pulled earlier today. Around five hours ago I took hydrocodone. It partially got rid of the pain but did nothing for the swelling. I just took ibuprofen. My entire maxilla and mandible hurts so bad that I can't open my mouth to talk or eat. It feels similar to a really bad toothache on both sides of my mouth.

First it is normal. When I had mine pulled out, I went through similar situation. Swelling is totally normal. I had swelling on both sides till 5-6 days.
Apply ice pack on swollen area repeatedly. Take meds prescribed by the dentist regularly.
Go to dentist if your pain is radiating kind. Like it starts from tooth and goes up to back of head.

Go Get a Thermo Pack that You can Put in the Freezer and the Microwave as well, @ginny_weasley.
Go Find this at your Nearest store, or Send Mom or Dad for One, hun, and in a Day or So... Back to Normal.
However, any High Fever or evne Anything Here, dear, that's s Not "Normal," ASAP back to the Doc. xx

Sooo-there is a condition called dry sockets. And it is excruciating. I know cause it happened to me with my extracted wisdom teeth. You should go back into your dentist and be evaluated.

Your dentist should have given you perception strength pain killer a antibiotic and a incredible stupid looking but effective ice holder for your head use ice for the swelling and take pain killers

He did, they worked yesterday for my other dental surgery but they're not strong enough for my wisdom teeth.

Are you taking the max allowable dosage because when I got my wisdom teeth removed I had two take 2 Tylenol 3 with codine tablets ever 4 hours for the first 2 days I even woke up in the middle of the night to take more but if it hurts that bad go to a hospital and ask a doctor

That sucks. I steadily took my norco and Ibuprofen they gave me from the minute they said I could until like a week later and felt no pain whatsoever.

The only thing that helped me was Tylenol. The one that is like 750 mg. Maybe try 500mg since you probably weigh less. the other pain pills wouldn't work at all.

Liquid diet for a few days until the pain goes away. Fingers cross for no dry sockets.

Don't know if it'll work for wisdom teeth but naproxen has done wonders for censoring pain for me.

Ice it best you can and get something with benzocaine in it. It's a local anesthetic. Buy cloroseptic spray. Feel better !

dab clove oil on cotton wool and place it where it hurts... or chew an actual clove n press against painful area
