For men, When it is safe to show weakness. And even then don't bawl like a baby. Do "man tears" where tears stream down your face but you are silent and composed. Its okay to do this watching sad movies, funerals, etc. But if your boss gets mad and yells at you don't be crying. It's a sexist stigma but people look at men to be strong and composed during hard times. Its okay to feel the feels, but there are times that you have to try to appear strong and in control to help those around you.

You cry when you need to, even if it's now. There is never an appropriate time to cry when your hurt. Your body isn't caring about that. Never hold that in. Regardless if it's male or female. Overall just be careful who you open up to because most will take your kindness and insecurities as weakness, and an opportunity to hurt you worse.
