Well it’s taking one extreme to the other. Idc how pretty of a face you have, being obese is not healthy and shouldn’t be “accepted”
I 100% agree with you. I was about to write an opinion, but your description summed up everything I wanted to say. Nevertheless, I will add one small thing : if people want to heart from obesity related diseases, let natural selection do its work.
Absolutely. These people, more often than not, can actually do something about their condition. Yet their movement take attention away from people with body confidence issues they are born with like women who have small breasts or men that are short.
Yeah its stupid as fuck. Its for lazy asses who can't lose weight and are jealous of normal people.
All women should be skinny and 180cm, all men should be 190cm. Eugenics FTW
Serious note: this is cultural. I personally would rather fat privilidge than short privilidge as in Scandinavia. Tons of women broke their legs and pay millions just because some Sven's dont date girls under 5'9"
Wtf really?
Is height taken that serious?
Wow that is scary
@ROCKS128 In Scandinavia, yeah. All women under 5'8" struggle in dating. Either kill herself or do limb lenghtenig
I feel totally sad.
And here such height is cute.
I barely see women struggle for it.
I dont know how this happens there... I mean short girl too can provide what is necessary in relation.
Yeah I don’t think obesity itself should be encouraged but I think self love and acceptance should be encouraged
Yes, obeasity shouldn't be praised or encouraged. What was originally praised and encouraged was thick body types, not fat
Uh, yep.
While beauty may be skin deep, ugly is to the bone. ;)
I wouldn't fuck her with YOUR dick.
Bits of it don't say eating unhealthily is good but don't say being skinny is nessesary
Who says being underweight is good?
@Twenty2 it used to be
So let it be in the past!
Yes. Especially since my country has public health insurance and I have to pay for their fucking laziness, diabetes and lack of will to not become landwhales.
Yes. Yesyesyes. Fat people must be sent to the gulags.
It is no difference than anti-bullying or the LGBT all of that is working on silencing free speech they do things in the name of good but there is a nasty agenda behind it
***Stop having kids white women***
Its not rocket science what this stupid bullshit actually is about.
Um... yes. Duh. Being fat is not attractive, or healthy. The "fat acceptance" ideal is fucking stupid.
It is. People should be striving to become healthy, not accept they don’t have the ambition to become fit and deal with obesity for the rest of their lives.
Yes it is. We should be able to help somebody out and inform they need to lose weight and get into better fitness than worrying if it hurts their feelings. We try to help them, not hurt them.
Kinda yeah I mean to be honest a short skinny girl like me or even a big girl isn't going to want to wear something a fat model wears.
Depends on how she looks. We all know personality don't matter only when it comes to sex. My last job there was a couple ones that caught my eye but there was a fat black girl, and she was cute and she was thick in the right places. BBW is beautiful
While eating habits can affect weight, a large part of weight is just genetics and metabolism. I eat like a pig, but I'm 110 ibs. Some people exercise and eat healthfully, but they're overweight. It seems only just to celebrate all body types.
If they are happy, that's what matters, but facts are facts.
No it's not ridiculous. Some people have thyroid issues or the hypothalamus could be damaged. Men especially white men are very quick to judge without educating themselves on other possibilities.
Yea I got clients wants to loose weight but “can’t “ cause don’t follow my program for them and beach cause I can’t loose it for him.
Only women get that acceptance.
Overweight men are mocked and reviled... especially by overweight women
Honestly yes it is why tell people it okay to smoke drink or eat lots and put more strain on your health you should be happy who you are but to do that is stupid
I think you need to love and have confidence in yourself today in order to improve yourself tomorrow
It shouldn't matter what anyone weighs, or looks like. Nobody should be shamed, period.
Shamed and encouraged to keep up bad habits are two different things. Sadly, shame is the only thing capable of getting some people off the couch.
@morimeme1 Wrong. There was a time when I was 5'9" and 240 pounds when I was 16, and I was teased and shamed HORRIBLY for my weight. It wasn't until I was away from school that I was able to focus on myself and the underlying problems that were causing me to be overweight. I can ASSURE you, shaming overweight people DOES NOT encourage them whatsoever to lose the weight. AT ALL. I know, because I was one of them.
It wasn't until I got away from all that, that I was able to lose 80 pounds. When you have people shaming you at every opportunity, it pushes you and your self-esteem down so low that it makes it nearly impossible to see yourself as worthy, and to lose weight. Because it hurts to be shamed and made fun of without people Seeing and valuing you for WHO you are, instead of just what's on the outside.
There is a way to encourage someone in a constructive manner to help uplift them and support them in a way that is conducive to helping them lose weight. Shaming them doesn't do ANY of that. People think shaming and teasing overweight people is somehow "constructive" to "helping" them, but it actually has the opposite effect. It's a matter of dignity and compassion towards others to help them instead of using shaming and negativity to "help" them. Because that doesn't work. At all.
It just seems the people who say and do those things are more concerned about themselves instead of helping an overweight person in a constructive way that shows them dignity to help them lose weight. They can't seem to get over their view of fat people, so they shame them and hold them below themselves simply because they perceive them as "flawed" and/or "inferior" people that go against their sense of aesthetic. But in order to ACTUALLY help someone, you cannot see them as anything other than someone who is WORTHY of being loved and encouraged in a way that is conducive to the change you seek. Shaming them doesn't do a damn thing. Be part of of the solution instead of the problem.
@BlueWalker 100%.. congratulations to you. Incredible journey.
@Peege Haha! Thanks! 😊 But yeah, my journey was mostly due to how I finally got away from the endless shaming and negativity in my life that was killing my self-esteem so I could work on the things that were causing me to be overweight. But yeah, it's extremely hard do that when the whole world around you sees and reduces you to being just a "fat piece of shit" and nothing more. Compassion and love is the way to motivate. Not shame, derision and exclusion. That gets no one nowhere.
Shamed and encouraged to keep up bad habits are two different things. Sadly, shame is the only thing capable of getting some people off the couch... Rude and wrong.
You can get offended all you want, but I am talking purely out of things I have hears from people first hand, I don't see how "shamed and encouraged to keep up bad habits are two different things" can ever be wrong, check those definitions yourself if you have doubts. Second, I know this society consists of snowflakes who can't take the harsh truth but that has never stopped me from voicing it, my boyfriend was overweight due to a heavy sports trauma and his friends constantly teased him about it, it was his stubborness and a response to this shaming as he said himself that he was dead set on proving everyone wrong and losing that weight. So as I said - some people, not all.
It kind of depends, I don't necessarily think it's all bad. I see where it can go too far though.
I think it is great because all of them will die from heart attacks.
The day we have privatized healthcare is the day ill stop being annoyed by thjs trend
People should have to work on being thin because being fat is disgusting
There's a difference between someone's body being what it is, and someone being lazy.
being obese is dangerous and it is ridiculous
Fat is not beautiful, it is grotesque. Fat acceptance was created by feminism.
Absolutely.
It's really embarrassing to be fat
It can be, however I am against fat shaming
i think acceptance in general is a good thing
and i would far prefer someone with more meat on their bones. nobody wants to cuddle with a stick
Yes. All fat is unacceptable.
yeah its dangerous to people's health
Yep. It is just an excuse.
nah I like me girls with big arms
Yeah
Lol yeah
YES ….
Everyone does.
it's unhealthy
It's not good
Nope.
Obviously
Fat people are gross
I do. Its unhealthy.
