According to a video I watched and a google search inhalers in the USA cost $250-$350. If you ask me that's a ridiculous price to pay.
My dad and brother has asthma, and we get inhalers free- and the most my dad has had to pay for an inhaler is about £7-£10.
If they cost as much as they do in the USA in Britain, then my family would be screwed- there's no way we'd be able to afford those prices. We'd have to make one inhaler last a whole year, and when an asthma attack comes on- that'd be pretty damn hard.

You guys in the USA are being screwed over massively, you shouldn't have to pay $250-$350 for an inhaler. I can't understand why it costs so much. What would a poor person with asthma do?
Government regulations It's one of the big reasons why health care is so expensive If you're poor you get it for free I don't know what those people are talking about probly are actually not poor but middle class Because it's Middle class and up who are paying the bills poor people get it all for free.
There's government regulations that limit on how many of the products can be produced a year creating an artificial shortage. Same with regulations on how many people can even become doctors or nurses. Also if you are even allowed to start a medical business in the 1st place you have to get a license that are very corrupt usually very controlled and limited making it so the market is artificially controlled and the supply is artificially lower making the cost artificially higher.
The solution to healthcare is very simple get government out of it stopped giving poor people free stuff it will be very cheap
We are screwed all ways from Sunday in our health care system its the worst of both worlds (free market and subsidized government provided) there are many reasons why including private insurance profits leaching value from the system to tort reform where you can sue medical practitioners for any damn problem raising the cost of practice for doctors as well as government regulations making healthcare less efficient. There is also probably a lot of greed and profit making to be had especially if you are a private hospital and patients have no choice but to pay the piper (or die)
I was in the pharmacy the other day and this man came in and needed a refill on his inhaler and they told him it would be over $600 without insurance. I really don't have an answer other than in Europe they don't have an FDA for medication to be approved for patient use. In Europe patients cannot sue drug makers for anything that happens to patients while taking that medication. Also in the US drug makers own the exclusive rights to a particular brand name drug for 12 years. During that timeframe no other pharmaceutical company can manufacture a generic or cheaper version of that drug. Another thing is that these pharmaceutical companies spend a lot of money on getting their products through patient trials and to FDA approval. Once that drug is approved and they have the monopoly on that brand name drug for 12 years they are going to attempt to recoup all that funding that went into making that drug.
The pharmaceutical companies are gouging the people here in the united states. I have seen medicines jumped higher than necessary and they don't care. I've seen the anaphylaxis emergency drug called the epipen jump from about $10 to $300 or more. We have a real problem here and i hate it.
Everything video you see on the internet isn't factual. Drug stores typically sell inhaler devices for around $5-20 or packaged with like 150+ doses for $30.
Not really. I’ve been at jobs where I paid $50 a month for both medical and dental combined and other companies where I paid around $100-120 a month for medical. Some companies have better benefits than others. Either way when you are young it might be a half of a percent or one percent of your income. It’s nothing to cry over if you are employed. As you age your risk of major health events goes up so the actuary tables push those prices up. The people that general have the biggest problem with insurance are in their late 50s to early 60s right before they get Medicare benefits. People that are young have relatively cheap insurance. People that are old are covered under national social net programs for retired people. It’s in the middle where people get squeezed… Those people tend to be at the top of their earning potential with well developed careers though. None the less $30 a month isn’t the end of the world for people with asthma without insurance. Some prescription medications are ridiculously expensive without insurance, but you don’t need them for things like asthma that have had options available for an extremely long time and have plenty of generic competitors in the market place. If you have something like AIDS or some form of cancer, then it would be hard to get by without health insurance.
Obamacare. It give drug companies and health insurance companies licence to charge whatever they want and Joe public has no choice but to pay. It's kinda like how paracetamol costs the NHS £3.23 each yet you can buy them in some shops for as little as 19p.
Because most of the members of congress own stock in big pharmaceutical companies, and most of them also get paid to keep the prices as high as possible.

Keep in mind that these are low ball figures. Quite a lot of the money they get never gets reported to the IRS so they don't have to pay tax on these bribes.
