What would you do if your girlfriend gained weight?

what would you do if your girlfriend started gaining weight shortly  after you started dating?

I always just assumed by the way many complain about their weight that girls were able to figure out whether they had gained even as little as a pound or two by the way their clothes fit (with guys, my experience is that the gain/loss has to be much more extreme before most would notice it). Which means, if she's put on weight, she's definitely going to notice well before I do.

If she hasn't said something serious about it (I'm not counting the whining some girls do: 'Oh my God, I put on a pound this week! I'm getting fat!' /shudder), then I'd trust pretty much any girl enough to either have decided they were okay with it or that they wanted to do something about it.

Therefore, I don't need to say anything about it.

I'm not going to lie though. I consider myself quite flexible as far as what I find attractive in a girl, but at some point I suspect it would start negatively impacting my sexual desire for her. I'm not talking about ten or twenty or any X amount of pounds. But I imagine there would come a point eventually when I realized my desire and satisfaction had really taken a serious hit. A fun, healthy sexual relationship with my girl is important to me. I'm not going to ignore that.

At that point, if I felt like I was putting forth an honest effort to make myself attractive to her, I'd probably be pretty hurt that she didn't care to do the same for me. If not, then it's not my place to say anything about her specifically. But either way I'd have to bring her/my weight gain up (gently) before the diminishing sexual attraction/satisfaction killed our relationship and hope that we could work through it together.

I'd be happy knowing that she trusts me enough to feel comfortable gaining weight, and would only be upset if she started showing that it was effecting her negatively.

If she began crying and trying to convince me that six months down the line I'll think she's ugly, or if she gets it in her head that after gaining five pounds she's the fattest girl in the world, I'll be annoyed and upset, because it doesn't show trust for me and it also shows a massive amount of stupidity as well.

But overall I wouldn't mind. Unless it started to become a health problem, then I would attempt to make her stop and diet.

I've always struggled with my weight and have lost and gained a significant amount of weight throughout our relationship. My boyfriend's behavior has never changed toward me. He's never stopped being eager to have sex with me, he's never stopped telling me how beautiful he thinks I am. He's told me that he doesn't care how much I weigh, other than the fact that he knows that gaining weight really bothers me, and so he supports me while I lose weight by eating healthy with me, cooking with me, and working out with me.

when I first started dating my fiancee she had a really stressful job and gained about 30 pounds.. I never became unattracted to her and loved her just as much,.. it finally sank in with her and she decided she wanted to lose it  she's back down 25 pounds now and wants to lose even more... I'm proud of her and she's sexier than ever

First I wanna see if it's because of some medical condition that she's gaining weight and unable to lose it. If it's not then, I'd have a talk with her about it. I would offer some solutions and suggestions and wait a little while to see her reaction. If she is taking it one day at a time and working out, walking, eating healthier, then that's a good sign. But if she isn't even trying then, it's time to break it off.

If it was a couple of pounds, I wouldn't really care.  If she started letting herself go, I'd get her to come to the gym with me.  If she chooses to let herself go and not do anything about it, then she'd likely get dumped.

Depends on the situation. That is, how much she used to weigh and how quickly she is gaining weight. I would probably be a bit concerned, but I don't think it would be a huge deal.

Encourage her to stay fit. Ask if she wants to exercise with me. Ask her if she wants what I am eating for whichever meal it is (Which is always something healthy, as I am).
