Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers?

I have recently gained TWENTY POUNDS due to some trauma in my life, and I have been getting stretch marks and I hate what I see in the mirror.

Any personal experience with Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers? Which one should I join? Anything helps, thanks everyone!

Hi,

I know how you feel and it is hard but you can and will lose weight! Please know that a weight issue does not make or break you. I'm sure you are a very beautiful person regardless. Also make sure you want to lose weight for yourself and your happiness and health not for anyone else.

Many times when I would diet I would want to do so to look better to get someones attention etc. That isn't the reason anyone should want to do so.

I]That being said I would go for Weight Watchers. I lost over 65 pounds with Weight Watchers and still ate whatever I wanted! It's easy with the points system. There are 2 different point plans you can do. They give you the books and tools to count your points. It is really easy! You go weigh in once a week and they also have meetings to help promote encouragement. I found it easier to go with a friend...it helped us have support and someone to talk with daily who was eating using points.

Good luck to you! It is very rewarding as you see the weight you lose each week! Even if it's just .05 oz. You feel so proud of yourself! Also buying new clothes that look and feel great on you is a nice reward for your hard work and dedication as well as being fun! :)

this is to add to my comment, the one losing 245 to 220 lbs on wieght watchers...

The people at your local wiehgt watchers could also explain it to you easier, than after you get your start, join the wieght watchers website. So you can make recipies according to your points.



I think you should start first, messure yourself and wieght. Write it down on a paper. Than after a full week, right down your messurements and wieght. This will help to keep you determine (Helped me!) I allways founds a diet inspiration allways help keep it.

Took me about 5 months to lose 20, but I wasn't consestent. like I'll be off for it a week, I wasn't killing myself. But it was connsentent, I would lost 20 lbs in 3 1/2 or 4 months..

Try and get into dancing. I'm not talkin' about that line dancin' malarkey, not zumba either, I'm tallkin' about Ballroom, Argentine Tango, Fox Trot all that. See my mum is a dance teacher, she has classes all over the area where we live, with I think four teachers under her employ and they do all these proper professional kinds of dance. A huge portion of their demographic is unconfident women who want to lose weight, some of them said they hadn't excercised in years. Anyway now apparently they're all so much more confident than when they first started, and they've traded in the casual clothes and trainers for fancy frocks and high heel shoes when they go to the classes. The husbands love it apparently.

Yeah see it's not all about dieting, you gotta' remember that it's not all in the diet. It's about the general lifestyle, and many people just diet and wonder why it doesn't work for them. You have to have decent excercise too. Start cycling maybe, take up this thing I do called nordic walking, very good, great for meeting people too, boxing training, get to the gym or yeah dancing, somethin' like that.

Firstly, let me tell you this. Guys don't care about stretch marks. We just don't. Any time we get to see stretch marks, we're so excited that we're getting to see the rest of your skin that we just odn't even think about them.

Any diet program only works if you have the tenacity to stick to it. Which means, you don't need Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers - all they do is repackage food you can make yourself for way way cheaper. If you really want to do it, I suggest you go get a book called "the four hour body", there are a lot of good tips for eating and working out in there that you can use to easily lose 20 pounds if not more.

Don't waste your money on a gym or a diet program. Trust me, I used to work at 24 hour fitness, and they're all scams - they don't give you anything you can't get on your own. How did people lose weight before gyms existed? or diet programs? It can be done. Save your money and use it to treat yourself - and think of how excited you'll be when you reach your goal ON YOUR OWN.

One of my friends had really good luck with weight watchers. But you don't really need to go to some place and pay them money to get good results.

You can try simple things, like: Snacking on fruits and veg instead of chips and other junk food. Avoiding fast food. Eating more salads. Eating things like chicken and fish instead of red meat. Eating whole grain things instead of white flours. Drinking tons of water and tea. Avoiding sugar. Doing something active at least 3 times a week or going on a walk every day. Eating more meals to prevent getting too hungry.

20 lbs is not that hard to lose, and dieting is almost always temporary. it's better to slowly add more healthy things into your diet and life and lose the weight gradually, but for good, than to go on some diet, lose it all fast then gain it right back.

Weight Watchers,cheaper easier to keep up with, and you can make you own meals. and if you work out, you gain points to eat more. its worked amazling for me, I lost from 145 to 120. :) )its amazing.

Jenny is so much money! You see results, but wieght watcheers is cheaper and easier in my opion

How do you suggest I start? How long did it take you to lose that much?

When you first start, you will lose wieght fast.(like 4 lbs) . After the first week, than its like a slow process. It took me about.. 5 months, but I wasn't like perfect.. Like id go out with friends, no wieght watchers, but I'll be cacious. Like instead of a soda, I'll have a water. If I was consentent, I could have lost it in 3 1/2 months of 4 months.

I sugest you start at your local wieght watchers, buy a point counter, it'll make the diet easier.

I recomend weight watches I have seen the results and they go about losing weight the rigt way, the meeting are great for keeping you motiviated and on track, also you can eat whatever you want you just have to follow your daily points and they will teach you all of that.

Hoe about neither.. Those diets are all good and dandy but neither on its own will cause you to actually get slimmed down. I would advise doing weight jenny craig and then go to the gym for a little bit or just do various exercises with really light weights ALOT
