He loves to observe me from a distance. Am I reading him wrong?

Dear whomever's reading,

I'm a sixteen year old girl. And well my problem is.. Let's just keep it short: I have a boy-problem. I bet you're thinking: big shocker there! But I really can't seem to read his signs. Let me explain.

There's boy in my year, and we share multiple classes. Let's name him A. A is cute as hell. He stares a lot, and with a lot I really mean A LOT. And for some strange reason I always catch him, like he doesn't mind it if I see. (exhibit 1?)

I recently added him to msn, and we've talked almost every day ever since. The problem is that I'm always the one who has to initiate the convo. But when I do, it's like A will do anything to keep it from dying. (exhibit 2?) And he even throws in some blush and kiss emoticons. (exhibit 3?)

But when I see A in the hallways and I smile sweetly (like mouth closed) at him, he shows less emotion than a brick. The weird thing is, that whenever I laugh (like teeth showing, lol) a huge grin appears on his face. Am I not smiling obvious enough?

So last thing, I cycled home today (it’s really normal to cycle here). And I saw him cycling with his friends earlier, but all of a sudden A came cycling next to me. While his friends were right behind us, he might as well cycled with them. (exhibit 4?)

I was thinking to make a move first, since he sure isn’t gonna. But what should I do? Tell him I like him or show him by kissing him by surprise and afterward say that I like him.

What the hell does he mean? It’s like one day he loves to observe me from a distance. And the next day he could be showing less emotion than a brick. A is sure one hell of a mystery man to me!

Love, confused-love-seeking girl
