Is it wrong to ask my roommate not to fart around me?

I may just be immature but farts kind of gross me out. They smell bad and i don’t like people doing it around me. I know some people might argue she should be able to fart in her own house but it’s my house too and I don’t fart around her. Also I feel like it’s generally not too hard to go to the bathroom to pass gas. People also say it’s too much trouble to stop what your doing and go to the bathroom for 30s of s bad smell but like, you shouldn’t force your bodily functions on people

Its a natural bodily function. If something like a fart grosses you out that badly, thats on you. Im sorry but the reality is, its her home too, If she can't be comfortable in her home because of some idiotic hang up that you have, then perhaps you should find some other lodging.

You should tell her to go to the other side of the room to fart. I’m by far the gassiest, fartiest person I know. Like it’s inhuman, I have always had a reputation for my farts among family, friends, classmates, etc because of how often I let them rip. While I like to fart to try and be funny or brighten the mood (not to mention it feels great to let them out), I genuinely cannot hold them in. If I feel one knocking, it’s coming out. The longest I’ve ever held a fart for was like 30 seconds and it hurt a lot. It’s hard to go to the bathroom, but if I’m around people who are sensitive to smell, I’ll move a few feet away to let it out out of consideration or tell them I’m about to fart to make sure they plug their noses in time (usually my farts are loud and long enough to warn everyone in a 2 mile radius, though, lol). Another important thing to consider is that people are different, so you might not understand what it’s like to have to fart all the time and not be able to hold your farts in without letting one slip. I grew up thinking my brother was inhuman because I never heard him fart. Meanwhile, I constantly farted in front of him which grossed him out. I found this immensely funny, but I thought my brother was in the minority. My boyfriend never farts either, and when I met him I was confused. His sister farts all the time, like me, and he thought that she was unusually gassy but when he learned about how much I fart he realized it was normal for people to fart in different quantities.
