Guess I failed at this too.

God I am so fucking screwed and I somehow think that after failing 2 semesters worth of classes because I was too depressed to function, I'll pass the classes I am signing up for tomorrow.

I wish you the best I know my Father drank in his earlier days and it was not easy living with him he was abusive and he would verbally abuse me and my sister I remember she would need things at the store and she would leave him notes and he would just ignore the notes and we didn't have much money, His Steel Mill job was terminated cause the company was shutting down, we lived on extended benefits to they ran out, we lived on savings but that was the best.. I lived through so much depression with being bullied at Middle School and coming home to my parents arguing or my Father sick in bed from drinking too much... It was horrible to hear when my Father was sick.

It's only a failure if you give up. That's the big problem with quitting an addiction. When you slip one time it's a big psychological blow. You just have to keep at it, even when you slip.

You don't have to start over. You are at the point when you've drank once in the last 192 days. So even though you slipped, you are still WAY further along than you were before.

You broke that psychological wall of defense. You will have to build it up again. Calling yourself a failure because you slipped is the alcohol speaking. It's just a mind game that addictions do. It's trying to trick you. ALL addictions do this. You just can't listen to those mind games.

Sobriety takes time and you'll probably fall off the wagon a few times. Now you just need to start working on making it to 193 days sober; and once you make it that far see how much further you can go to challenge yourself next time.

When I'm stressed and can't think straight I usually try to find the humor in the darkness failing that I look at the following picture and repeat "Least it's not this bad anymore..."

No man don't look at it that way. You feel like a failure, but it's worth remembering that no one is perfect. If you batted.990 in baseball, you'd be the greatest player of all time. A swing and a miss now and then just means you're human. You can work through this.

1 day! You didn't drink 191 days. Congrats! And then you found out you're human. You made a mistake. It isn't good but it's not the end of the world. The only thing that matters right now is where you go from here. Get back on the horse!
