I saw someone saying this on tiktok and it made me really anxious. Is that true?

This is not true.

There are many crazy things in this world that are true, however, and it does no good to be anxious about them. It has helped me in the past to sit and think about this in depth and realize that my emotional distress does nothing to change reality. All it does is makes me upset.

Here's an example:

1. Scenario one: A teenager goes to prom and his mother stays up all night worrying about him being involved in a drunk driving accident because she saw on the news (and it's true) that there is a high incidence of teens dying on prom night due to drunk driving accidents. (either them driving drunk, riding with a drunk driver, or being hit by a drunk driver).

The teen comes home safe the next day.

2. Scenario two: same scenario, only the mom doesn't stay up all night. She thinks about her kid having a fun time and goes to sleep with a smile.

The teen comes home safe the next day.

In both scenarios, the same things happened, bu tin one the mom was upset, the other she was happy. The point being how you feel only affects how you feel, it's not going to keep you or anyone else from getting hurt. If anything, you might get sick due to stressing out, which actually happens a lot.

There is no medical nor scientific proof that anything like that could happen.

For an air bubble to go through a vein, it would require a lot of force and the forced air bubble is likely bust the veins and would cause you to stop before you can actually do yourself any harm. The pain would be enough for you to want to stop.

However, there are actually stories in early spy novels where air is injected into veins through an injection to induce a heart attack. And guess what? That is why when nurses prepare an injection, they push some of the liquid out of the cylinder to prevent that air remains in the injection and to prevent any air bubble from going into the veins.

An air bubble can not form because there is no air in your thumb nor is there anyway for air to get into your blood vessels without it being injected with a syringe. Sounds like someone was doing some pranking.
