Im 20 and I’ve been gaining more weight than ever and I’m not sure if it’s because of the birth control pill?

Weight gain is a common side effect of the birth control pills. When my wife was on them she was always putting on weight. She eventually had to get off of them. If you want to stay on the pill you have to excersize every day to counteract the weight gain.
My daughter started taking the pill and now she started putting on weight.
I've been thinking about getting off it for a while but I’m afraid that my boyfriend won’t feel pleasure anymore I started it because of him
I know that he’ll accept it but I worry that it won’t feel good for him if I stay off of it since he would have to use a condom
Im just an extremely insecure person so if I become fat that would probably ruin me I’m already scared because I’ve reached a weight that I’ve never reached before
I also think that the bc gives you cravings?
Is exercising 3 times a week enough? And eating junk only once a week?
To get back to her starting weight she worked out every day for 2 hours. She did that for a month or two. Then she cut it down to every other day.
As long as you cheat a little bit, I guess it would be ok. I wouldn't pig out the whole day because it's your cheat day. I think if you wanted a candy bar or a little ice cream it should be ok. My wife stopped all junk food and only ate healthy food.
Go back to doctor talk with him and see if there is another pill or different method of birth control you can do?

Your BC pills probably are responsible. I really wish doctors would more clearly explain these potential side effects to women. You are tricking your body into thinking that it is already pregnant, and you get everything that goes along with that. You have pregnancy mood swings, you lose your period, you gain baby weight, you perceive and approach men the way a woman with child would; you find different traits desirable.
These side effects are extremely common and extremely well documented and they really have serious impacts on women's lives. Your body wasn't meant to stay in a constant state of impregnation. If it was, you wouldn't need to consider taking the BC pills. Why we encourage women to take these things is mind boggling.
Talk to your doctor. Weight gain is a common side effect.
I’ve asked her questions but she has denied that it does regardless I don’t believe her because it seems like this happens to many people
I’ve been suspicious of it for a while I’ve never hit over 140 in my life now almost 150 that’s insane something has to be going on
After all it does contain estrogen
It’s a common side effect, but different brands have different effects. It could also be your metabolism is slowing down now that you’re not a teen anymore or you’re not getting a good diet or enough exercise.
I agree with you
I kinda want to get off of it but I’m afraid that I won’t please Nathan or something
If you get off bc you gotta make him wear a condom. Him pulling out and cumming on your boobs, while it’s a nice image, is NOT safe.
I know
Birth control could cause weight gain, yes, and keto diets could help you lose weight if you have pounds to lose, fatty liver could also slow your immunity and make you prone to obesity and dandelion tea and milk thistle can help with that.
Yes birth control can make you gain weight. Breaches your body is in a fake pregnant condition because of the pill. Therefore you gain more weight like a pregnant woman.
My wife had the same issue and got an IUD instead. It was very effective
@DianaWest ok. Your experience.
It's not the same for everyone.
A pap smear is uncomfortable.
I'm in the medical field, as is my wife (RN) and we've never heard of an IUD causing infertility. Ever.
Let the girl do her own research.
Don't fucking lie to her.
Middle aged infertility?
Maybe because they were middle-aged they were no longer fertile.
We've seen hundreds of teenagers have an IUD and go on to be vert fertile when they were ready.
Let the girl do her research and come to her own conclusion.
@Andres77 who said about lying? it's called freedom of speech. she is free to do her research. i never denied her that. i am merely offering her a second point of view. and until you get an iud up your ass, don't comment about how it feels. and yes, iud can cause infertility if you get an infection and do not treat it properly or it malfunctions, which it has in the past. it's good to know you are in the medical field. how much money do they pay you to administer iuds? http://surgicalwatch.com/mirena-iud/recall/ "and we've never heard of an IUD causing infertility. ever." oh, doc, perhaps you've heard of this New York Post article: nypost.com/.../
I’ve also heard of it causing infertility as well which is why I’m too concerned to get it
@DianaWest I’ll try changing up my diet cutting out bread and rice completely and I’ll see if that works first but if doesn’t I’ll go back to condoms
Eat less carbs, the pill uses causes hormonal imbalance which is amplified on a diet high in carbs. You should not be this troubled if you went higher meat or got rid of plant food entirely.
Yeah birth control pills can do that. Do you notice any area of your body that looks like it gaining the weight?
My waist my butt and legs
Im trying
Yes, it could be your medication. Birth control is a hormone pill, and there are tens different ones. Make sure you got an actual doctor to prescribe the medication.
I lost weight when I went off the pill. Maybe an IUD?
I would suggest looking for a new doctor, there's got to be birth control that doesn't cause weight gain
I would advise you to count how many calories you are taking, from both food and drinks for one week. Leave nothing out, even coffee with sugar. Then take the average.
I would say switch birth controls. Also get a app like "lifesum" so you can track your consumption so you can prove to the doctor that your diet choices are not the issue. If you find out you are over doing it. Then learn moderation when eating.
I think the pill can cause weight gain you should talk to a Professional health care.
I don't know if birth control pills make you gain weight, but 10 months is a long time. Using it for such a long time may cause adverse effects.
Stop it for a while even many guys like bare vaginal sex but your boyfriend should understand
Why do you think you won't please him
He was the one that suggested birth control to me I guess he didn’t like using the condoms
Yes it is bcoz of birth control pill
