Luciferase primers are used as reporter genes. In molecular biology we often attach reporter genes to sequences that we have engineered so that we can track weather or not the gene was expressed into a functioning protein and that it is doing the job it was intended to do. They are useful for collecting all sorts of data concerning concentrations, function. location, etc. In the patent they refer specifically to it being used in laboratory experiments rather than in people. They are using three different luciferase genes to carry out multiplex analyses of their experiment in the lab. That said, reporter genes can be used in living organism just as easily. Luciferase specifically emits luminesance when the protein (enzyme) it codes for is in the precense of a specific luciferin, oxygen, and ATP. A chemical reaction occurs that emmits light. Luciferase specifically can have flash or glow kinetics... So in the event it is in the end product, it would have to chemically react with an external substance that is injected into you, rather than react with an external light source as the guy in the video wounders about. It is not a fluorophore that absorbs energy from a light source and then emits a light at a different wavelength. You’d have to be injected to to check if that protein is still active in your body unless there is hypothetically some other genes inserted that code for a specific luciferin and a reverse transcriptase that codes it into your DNA. Anything is possible. On the surface it looks like normal molecular biology, but there are plenty of lies being told to the public by those who are running the regulatory agencies and producing the vaccines so take anything they say with a grain of salt. It’s possible to make living organisms glow through genetic manipulation, though Moderna is not claiming that is what they are doing in that specific patent.

I should probably say codes for a protein that manufactures a specific luciferin... Probably more confusing, but who knows someone might point it out. No one will probably understand any of this anyway...

Wow. That's a very detailed technical explanation

Not really... It’s like the 10,000 foot view. I hope I simplified it enough to make it useful.
