I journal a lot more when I'm stressed. But I do the "why" method. To every thought or feeling I ask myself why until I get to the bottom of the issue.
Then when I go as deep as I can go (I could probably go deeper but I have my limits) and sometimes it doesn't need to be a deep thing, I get practical. I make a plan of what I want to do, why I want it and then make a list of what I need to do and just check the things off one by one.
It doesn't mean the stress or mild anxiety goes away completely but there's the feeling that I'm doing something about it rather than drown in stress. And as I move along the to-do list, the stress goes decreases. If it goes away quickly then I interpret it as I accurately pinpointed the source of the stress.

Ride, ride, ride. Can’t do any thinking when riding a motorcycle. Requires total focus. Nice little rest for the brains racing thoughts. Come home exhausted and better prepared to deal with it all. Writing stressors down also helps a lot, lets your mind relax.
Watched a lot of porn. Wasn't healthy.
Cannabis mixed with food helped. Lots of negative stereotypes concerning cannabis.
So now it's church activities and exercise. Actually, the group of people that I interact with at church and during exercise are genuinely supportive.
So ye...Meditation, sleeping, watching things on YouTube that are ASMR related or how things are built/ physics documentaries, working out, etc.

By not avoiding the stress. Work through it. Talk to someone about it. Find a solution to it. If working harder is the way to get through it do it.
