Go to another dentist for a second opinion.
Use floss twice a day. Use it properly. You can find many examples online of how to do so. People often floss wrong. I use Reach since it is ADA approved and doesn't tear apart as easily as others. Flossing helps strengthen your gums.
Use Listerine twice a day. The real old fashioned Listerine. The one with the ADA seal. It helps fight infections the best, including gingivitis. You can also get this as a generic store brand. Just get the store brand one with an ADA seal. As only the original Listerine formula is ADA approved.
Use a soft bristle toothbrush. Brush gently in circular motions. You should never use medium or hard bristles anyways as they are too aggressive. Always brush gently in circular motions whether using manual or electric.
You can also get a gentler super soft Dr Collins Perio brush. There's also soft attachments for electric toothbrushes and brush head attachments for gum care. Get the real brand heads not the third party ones. As you don't know how good their quality control is on bristle stiffness.
Try a different toothpaste. Something for your gums. Such as Crest GUM Detoxify.
See a different dentist. Floss to make sure all food particles get removed. But they should not look like that if you are brushing and flossing. A dentist can prescribe a rinse that treats the gums and should improve them a lot.
Wisdom teeth probably don't have much to do with the area you show in your photo. You mention you have been to the dentist. Did they have anything to say about it?
Hi it didn't look this bad when i went but still swollen, theyre more red now. He didn't really say anything just to keep brushing. he also just did a bit of cleaning the tarter buildup with low equipment as of covid ectrictions
Do you think you are over cleaning and possibly making it more irritated?
I dont think but I've started trying to brush the gum area to see if that can help but im not sure if have to press a bit hard or gently
I would be gentle and not overdo it. You may only being serving to further irritation.
Thank you for MHG
Flossing is almost in not more important than brushing sometimes.
