Stretching is good for you. It's even essential for many things. Just don't push it too hard and injure yourself.
If you only work your muscles and never stretch, you can get yourself out of balance, which is a big cause of injuries.

I do leg stretches. It's not something I talk about with or advertise to people I know. But I do them. I can get all the way to the floor with the splits but can't keep my legs quite as straight as a woman can. Mainly it started with stretching for yoga. Then I decided to work on getting to the splits.
Not weird at all. Quite the opposite - if you tried to do wall climbing without proper stretching then you would most probably fall of the wall because of blocked muscle.
Well, it's less common, but if you train your muscles, you'll need to stretch them, that includes your legs.
