What is your resting heart rate?

I just checked and it was 56 beats per minute.

I tend to be over 100 very often even at rest. I also have a mild heart condition called angina (like a mild heart attack) although I only tend to get it if I drink like a maniac while singing and dancing like crazy.

Actually, I just answered a previous question asking whether we have a fast metabolism. I seem to have the fastest I ever find around with people constantly amazed how much I can eat without getting chubby. But it might relate to that resting heart rate being so high.

The lowest I think I ever got was 80. But I have to be so calm and relaxed to get there... like in a near-meditative state of peace in the mind.

That's extremely tough for me to do though since the normal things that relax people like actual meditation, soothing music, and massages don't really make me feel relaxed. They actually make me a bit restless and anxious. What tends to relax me is just working out like a maniac and then I'm so focused on my physical exertion that I feel very relaxed... but that's probably not doing much to lower my heart rate.

Supposedly between 60-100 resting heart rate is considered good. Below 60 can be a problem, but athletic people are know to drop their heart rate to close to 40.

@daniela1982 I am a former marathon runnner and still do lots of cardio so it is usually in the 50s/

Mine is 72 now. It was between 50 and 56 when I was younger and ran 3-5 miles per day.
