Not counting my SAR days, the worst injuries I have ever had happened on one bright sunny day in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. A friend of mine was racing a dirt modified and was going to go to North Carolina to interview as crew chief for one of the big-time NASCAR teams.
He asked me to do some tire testing with some new compounds they were trying. So I made the trip there and suited up. It was just to be an afternoon session then back in time to jump in my own ride to race in the evening.
I had made several 25 laps runs then they wanted me to make a longer run of 50 laps to see what the wear was. Things are lost and I only know what I've been told. Apparently, the right front hub broke, and the wheel/tire combination penetrated the cockpit.
The axle dug into the race track and lifted the car, at 160 according to the radar gun, something like 50 feet into the air, then landed on the roof, crushing the roll cage around me. The car continued to barrel roll until the guard rails stopped it.
It took an hour to extricate me from the wreck, and because it wasn't a race, there was no helicopter, so they transported me in the one ambulance that was required to be there.
That accident gave me a concussion, a broken neck, broken ribs and shoulders, lumbar damage, shattered pelvis, broken shins, and right femur. Both wrists had radial fractures, both feet were fractured. I spent 6 months in a rotating bed and a year in a halo. It took 15 years to get out of the wheelchair.
The bitch of this whole thing was, that I had tested for a team in North Carolina and was hired to drive full time the next season. All I've done since is just some warm-up laps in either a Super modified or someone's modified.
I think I could almost compete now with Jackie Chan on the number of serious injuries I've sustained (I'm a lifelong vert skateboarder and took most of my injuries from skateboarding).
Yet the worst for me was always face like nasal fracture and jaw fracture. I think it's because it interferes so much with my breathing and even basic things like eating and drinking.
Leg/foot injuries also annoy me a lot (although oddly I've never fractured my femur, tibia, or patella) like severe ankle sprains and metatarsal fractures since, while it at least doesn't hurt to breathe or eat, I have to hop around and struggle just to go to the toilet, e. g.
When I was 15 I was run down by a car I never saw coming. The injuries were so many & severe the doctor told my parents I wouldn't live.

My right pointer finger was caught in the door latch of a car and the door closed, locked with my finger in it.
Broken left ankle that had to have Open reduction and internal fixation to fix it
Had my left forearm slashed open with a knife
Lost a couple teeth due to fighting
Dislocated a knee and shoulder
Several concussions over the years
Recently was hit by a car while crossing the street. Wound up with a traumatic brain injury. Had to have both sides of my skull removed temporarily due to the brain swelling and a brain bleed. I also was in a coma and on life support due to it.
I have had a big toe sewn back on, about 2 literes removed from my left lung, knee surgery from playing foot ball, broken ribs, various stitches, tore 3 rotator cuffs in my right shoulder at the same time, they fixed it, but it has never been the same, and 16 months ago I got a brand new left knee to replace the on I screwed up playing football, and a couple of concussions.
And I broke a finger nail last week, and have had a few paper cuts.
Some of those have been fire dept injuries, my toe was due to having an argument with a John Deere. Hydraulics always win.
I had a crushed urethra when I was 19. It still makes problems for me 30 years later.
Jesus. How the hell did that happen?
