I have two, though one isn't technically an injury, just my fear of taking care of my self...
The first one, I was much younger 25 I think.. I was at a bar with my girlfriend at the time, and a mutual female friend of ours (she had just broken up wirh a guy who stabbed her for having a miscarriage, psycho I know). It was karaoke night, and she was up on stage singing. While singing she looked at her phone, abruptly stopped, and left. I, like an idiot, followed her out wanting to see what was wrong or if she was OK. I opened the front door. Her ex was there with a baseball bat he said "do you want some too?" hand hit my had with the baseball bat and broke my fourth metacarpal. Another friend of ours was there with us. Big guy. Almost 7 feet tall, and as big as a refrigerator, almost entirely muscle. He didn't take kindly to this guy's cowardly attack, so he took the baseball bat from him, and threw him through the windshield of his own car. The police showed up and started asking questions. They got the story about my hand, but the entire bar said they saw nothing when it came to the asshole getting thrown through the windshield. The police made a joke about him doing it to him self. They said it was just as well, he would be going to jail for a long time, he was wanted in multiple states. We later on broke contact with this fale friend of ours. She kept choosing the worst possible, most abusive men.. We tried to set her up with good guys and she said she just was not attracted.. No idea what happened to her.. And I honestly don't care.. You can only help someone so much before it becomes not worth it.
The second one was my wisdom teeth almost killing me.. 9 years ago this month I spent two weeks in the hospital, a week of that in the ICU. Because they were so infected that if I hadn't gone when I did, I would have died. Terrifying experience.

When I was younger, with one of those spin top (Beyblade and the like) I tried to force the tip off one of them. The stupid thing (of me) was that I was holding it in a way so that the palm of my hand was on the opposite end. So when I finally got the tip off, I inadvertently stabbed myself on my hand right after.
Second one was a more recent one, tripped on the starting cable on the lawnmower. causing my elbow to hit the concrete floor. The fortunate thing was that the elbow was cracked, not broken. So I only needed a cast and some painkillers for a Week or 2.
Broke my jaw and 8 teeth and got knocked out completely during first lockdown here trying to make home gym work. It was pretty bad and two big cracks one all the way down the side of my nose to jaw and behind my lower teeth (that little bone under the tongue) has to be popped back into place and seen too. Lots of root canals. Bad infenctions due to complications and costs of getting new teeth done
Believe it or not it wasn’t because of heavy lifting or bad form as usual sports injuries. I was just stupid enough to attach a resistance band (long thin ones) against a metal coat hanger hook on a wall. My stupid ass not realising it’s one of those paper thing barely there walls.. the hook snaps from 2metres and with the band sling shots right to my jaw knocking me out or A&E
The pain during wasn’t as bad as you’d think. More from all the inventions and procedures later on… I wish that on no one
I met someone here on gag. You prob. know him.
we were hanging out by a waterfall. I leaped up to a 4 feet railing on our side. Then jumped off the opposite side that was 7 feet down to some rock. My heel landed on one that was sticking out. The impact was so strong, it pushed out the eye of my ankle, foot broken into pieces. I now have 12 screws and other metals in my leg and two 12 inches long scars. I was out of work 3 months … and was stuck with him for 2 weeks.
he then came to take care of me…
we are now married…

I've been lucky to not ever had any serious injuries.
A month or so ago, I went roller skating for like the first time since I was 11 and fell on my tailbone a few times hard enough that it hurt for 2 weeks.
A year ago, I injured myself at work in a stupid way and now have a small scar on my eyelid so that sucks.
Burn marks from work on my arms. A burn on my hand from the fryer that was really painful for a couple weeks.
Nothing really serious though. My life has never been threatened through an injury or anything. Thank GodLikely when still in RAF, suffered major trauma to stomach and thigh.
Result was over 6 weeks in hospital banged off my tits on Morphine for over 5 of them.
Stomach stapled from pretty much chest to just above groin, and leg wound stuffed with maggots lol.
Had a fairly bad event a few years earlier where I got to see my skull lol, very nice Kiwi doctor stitched me up.
Some other more self inflicted types as well lolI had a glass go through my leg when I was younger that cut up the muscles and tendons. The surgery was done wrong in the ER (they forgot to reconnect the tendons) so I had to go in for a second surgery to get that taken care of. Lost a lot of blood and needed a transfusion.
To this day I have a very slight limp and I can't flex my foot forward the full range which makes driving weird since I now have to drive with the side of my foot.i WaS RuN OvER dragged 90ft stuck up under her bumper & under carriage with my bike underneath me.. she had hit me in the back of my skull from behind (imagine a bumpers height) as i proceeded to get up out of the bike lane.. so I didn't see it the mini-van coming BLAM
My injuries?
3 skull fractures
10 broken ribs
Punctured Lung
Tailbone pushed through my asscheek (the doctors at the hospital never saw something like this B4
Coma (icu) 13 days
Only to awake and no NOTHING..
Jerry Coffey1997... as an employee of the "Telephone Company" I working at the top of a 25' ladder, it collapsed... I broke my fall by trying to land on my feet... it "shattered" my left heel (calcaneus) and my head bounced off of the cement... since then, I am permanently disabled, I walk with a Limp. and my memory is crap.. I spend my days answering questions on GaG and watching TV... I do not remember... I will forget this question and my answer. I can still reason and, think and immediately FORGET it all... Life is a Joy...
I crashed my bike and smashed my face and I hurt my face like by my left cheek. It was really swollen and the doctor said that there’s a thin bone that I almost broke that holds my eye in 😳. Probably not the worst but that’s mine.
I've been very fortunate... never broken any bones. My worst injury was in college when I rolled my ankle playing intramural volleyball. I didn't tear anything but I severely stretched ligaments. I had to walk gingerly for a couple weeks until my ankle healed.
Injury or illness? I have some spinal issues from some injuries which are tolerable, but boring. My worse illness though was osteomyelitis in my upper shoulder (basically a bone infection/abscess). Took doctors months of tests to figure it out. Was out of work for months, worst pain of my life, opioids barely took the edge off. Took an out of state surgery and 3 months of intravenous antibiotics to recover. Never figured out how it happened.
Being bit by the next door neighbor's grandson and had to get a tetanus shot that time I was a bit on the tummy and the next time I was bit on the palm of my hand by our Silver grey poodle named Dinky while I took his dog dish away from him my parents gave him away I learned my lesson
Broke my arm by falling off those little scooters. I tried to take the corner too sharp and that was that.
Never anything really serious - broke a finger, broke my nose a few times, couple concussions.
The one I’m really paying for now was bashing my knee off a tree when I was 16 or 17. Wasn’t too bad at the time but never got it dealt with and probably should’veI don't remember what the argument was about but as a kid I was arguing with a teen about something. I think he cheated in a game and I got mad. But he was almost twice my age and he got annoyed with me and he grabbed me and slammed my head against the edge of a door frame multiple times. I ended up having to get my jaw, lips, and part of my cheek and nose stitched back together. I have healed up well now but being messed with about it has left a long lasting effect on me.
Rear wheel of my bike was faster than front one. Bike fell of my leg and ground my knee few dozens of meter on the street. I didn't wore a bike suit, just thicker jeans and I have seen my knee cap. Luckily one 2cm small scar remained, other damaged tissue healed without scars
Ever told you how medicine i was supposed to take everyday literally ripped my funkin' asshole? :)
That, and letting my teeth go black. (decayed) But the former is one I can never forget and makes me who I am.Multiple concussions in a rollover that left me with neural-pathway issues, memory issues (both long & short), memory loss, fragmented memory, memory recall issues, my mental visualization is just shadows & blurs (usually in monochrome), mental processing is slower, my creative thought process is slowed incredibly, I have motor function issues (my limbs muscle-lock if i try to go to fast, and it takes me relaxing, enable to unlock them.)... to put simply... I'm brain damaged
I have had broken hands, concussion, broken tailbone, stitches but my worst not sure if its an injury well ehh, I had lump removal and then got a staph infection in the hospital, almost killed me.
Stitches on the back of my head when I was little. I sleep-walked and fell with the back of my head against the glass table.
i just never get injured - there are multiple times where i should have broken my neck but it just never happens lol - well that's a good thing tbf
I was run down by a car I never saw coming. there were to many injuries to even remember let alone list here. The doctor told my parents I wouldn't live.
Slashed the sole of my foot almost fully from ankle to toes by stomping on a broken glass bottle on the beach. Damn thing was hidden in the sand.
Other than that just a broken wrist once at a martial arts class.
Damn I am boring!
