It's simple. I know many who are literally "eaten up" with endo. I have one who has had to fly to Oregon to have excision surgery because there are not many doctors who operate in the US. She had endometrial lesions on her intestines. Every month that you continue to have a cycle you are contributing to your condition getting worse. I knew early on that I would likely get endometriosis that's why I stopped my periods earlier in life. Yeah, I know you probably want a kid, blah blah, I get it but I didn't.

I'm sure others will answer your main question, but most Doctors will completely ignore anything to do with nutrition or diet. Take a look at this video. Also I bet if I were to ask you how much iodine you get daily, you wouldn't know. Most of the population are deficient, even the ones that consume iodized salt (mistakenly thinking it's enough).
