High Alcohol dependence?

I just took a self assessment because my friends told me I drink way too much and they calll me an alcoholic… I drink mainly when super stressed about life and stuff or even the slightest bit stressed.. does anyone else have this? And how did you stop?

You're on the right track, which is Step One of the 12 Step Method, and also of the Scientific Method. Basically, identify and admit you have a problem. Drinking alcohol to cope with stress is a problem.

Next step is to find a solution. My recommendation would be to stop drinking alcohol. You need to find a new way to cope with stress. That could be exercise, meditation, talking with friends, talking to yourself, talking to a therapist, or doing something healthy like reading a book or less healthy like watching tv.

I've not been addicted to alcohol, but I was addicted to nicotine. In the end, I had to decide to NEVER use it again. It's alright for some, but not for me. Alcohol is so dangerous, I highly recommend you stop and don't use it ever, even recreationally, even a little, even when it's a relaxed environment with friends. It's just too dangerous and strong a substance to mess around with. Same with nicotine, it's so addictive and strong.

I was an 8 shots of vodka on a regular night 6-7 nights a week drinker for about two years. One day I had been drinking like I normally do, and my parents called me to tell me our last childhood dog had passed away. By that point I had already had my eight shots of my regular evening and I ended up drinking eight more. I didn’t blackout, but I just felt in my stomach that if I kept drinking like I was, I would be dead soon. So the next day I cold Turkey stopped and poured all my alcohol down the drain and threw away the 50+ bottles that I had up in the kitchen. I switched to weed and I’m way better for it. Since 2019 when I quit, I’ve probably had about eight shots spread over the three years.
Now for some people, it would be really dangerous to just Stop drinking, but it worked for me. Some people have to gradually quit

I used to drink a lot. This was back in the 90s/ . I think people today would have considered me a problem drinker and that all my friends were also problem drinkers. I became unemployed and I stopped drinking because it was one less thing I had to spend money on and besides I was training for a new career and I was slowly unraveling and if I was still drinking I would have unraveled that much faster. When I went back to work a year and a half later I decided I didn;t want to drink anymore.

I was getting a beer belly and at that point my vanity became more powerful than my alcoholism and took over my brain.

You replace a bad habit with good. When you feel like drinking, go out for a walk, eat something nice or do something else which you really enjoy.

Whether or not you are an alcoholic, you do have an alcohol dependence at an early age.

Well and if u happen to be stressed a bit everyday? Then yes you are definetly alchoholic

I have about 4 drinks a day or every other day and I’m 21

Yeah that is quite a bit lol I would class u as a alcoholic as it seems u require it at that point
