Can you wash the inside of the lips with soap?

I'm really confused. I know it's said not to put soap inside the vagina or it'll throw off your ph balance. I know it's super important to wash the vulva with soap, and wash the vagina with water. But can you put soap inside the lips? Every time I do, people say don't. But if I don't, people say you should. I'm so confused. I know you're not supposed to use scented products, and that dove is probably the best one to use. But can I please get a proper answer? Everyone gives me different ones and I would like to make sure I'm cleaning properly without causing infections etc. I thought it was okay to use soap inside the lips?

For starters, you should not put anything in your vagina to clean it. It is like a self-cleaning oven. You don't need to put water in your vagina. However, our vulva and around the clitoris are a hot box of heat. We develop smegma which is a combination of shed skin cells, skin oils, and moisture. It's oily and smells. It is impossible to remove the oily residue with just water. I am a firm believer in using mild soap to remove the smegma. I would not use a bar-type soap and if you get it near your vagina or urethra it will sting. It's like getting soap in your eyes. I was using Summer's Eve feminine wash but it made me itch. When I wash, I put the smallest amount or a dime-sized amount on a washcloth and lather it up. I clean on both sides of my clitoris and I gently retract the hood of my clitoris because smegma can and does collect there. Also make sure to fully dry after a shower. Pat dry is best, no need to rub hard.

You don't need to. If you are sensitive down there it's best not to, some don't have any issues but some (like myself) do, it's really just whatever works for you. Warm water is enough to clean the area, you can use a soft cloth to get into all the creases too. You don't want soap near the vaginal entry, and you definitely do not want water inside the vaginal canal either.

I literally used to get my mouth washed out with soap as a kid, so it won't kill you, but I wouldn't recommend it either. I'd just use mouth wash instead if you're just trying to kill bacteria or clean the inside of your mouth.

I took lips literally as the ones on your face lol, but you mean inside the vagina? Like others say, it's self cleaning so no need.

I personally do without problem, and I'm pretty sensitive. If you are really worried you can ask your doctor though. The main thing is not to get it in your actual vagina.
