If you're sad, give yourself permission to just do the things you enjoy most at the gym. Have a fave machine? Use it! Always wanted to try the battle ropes? Give em a go!
My go to when I was at a garage gym was asking for the sledgehammer and heading to the back to do tire smashes. Sometimes even in my office clothes over lunch if it's been a shit day.
You don't have to give it your all every time. Just go and give what you can.

ON days i'm feeling good I will do normal work out, But I also have a plan in place for days i feel like shit and I will do less hard exercise like walking, or swimming, or light jog something that still gets me moving but is also therapeutic to my mental well being

put it on your calendar. Add a reminder to your phone. Make a deal with yourself. Every time you go to the gym for 2 weeks consecutively, buy yourself a shirt or something you want.
you just have to keep going when you can and do what you can when your there , everyone has there own pace
Find a workout partner, and see a doctor if your depression doesn't go away.
