No, it causes weight gain. That's pretty well known.
It's a vicious cycle. Weight gain contributes to insomnia. And insomnia contributes to weight gain.
Weight gain is a classic symptom of insomnia. Insomnia causes stress, which leads to more eating. Insomnia means more time being awake, which means more time and more chance to eat. Insomnia leads to fatigue, when leads to less physical activity. There are a number of reason why insomnia causes weight gain.
I'm talking about longer term insomnia. Just losing sleep for a few nights won't make much difference.
