Can a hard slap break a tooth, jaw, cheek bone like a punch?

Since the slap has a bigger surface area enough to only hurt the outer most part, can it cause internal damages like a punch?

It’s highly unlikely to cause bone breakages because the surface area is so large and the palms of the hands are quite soft. Although a good slap can knock somebody out, especially if you hit the ear and collapse the ear drum.
