Who is ready to jump in giant piles of leaves?

Fall has started to arrive in some parts of the United States, we are planning on starting our giant raking project this upcoming weekend, should be a fun time!

I loved it... until I'd practically find slugs in my ears and strange maggot-looking things on my skin afterward.

It may not be 'summer,' but still have some critters about saying their goodbyes lol

They're actually making the most sense to 'house' themselves in the leaf litter, as all other covers, at that time, has ceased and they need provisional warmth.

I'll give a 'yahoo' for my family, friends, pets who wanna jump, but my humble recommendation is to jump into the DRY leaves only!

Other than this, Fall breezes and aromas are the best.

Sure I remember doing that when I was a little kid up in the mountains in Asheville North Carolina on vacation running down the mountains and sliding into all the thick leaves that have fallen down. Very precious moments. When I think about that moment my heart drops like Aww

I love this time of year. The weather is perfect, I love the cool brisk days. It’s beautiful to get to a high elevation and see all the colors too. My dog likes the sensation and/or the crackle/whoosh sound of running through the leaves. My only complaint is that golf is hard this time of year, because the balls get lost under the leaves!

Not when I noticed how many spiders like to hang out in leaf piles. We've got a lot of brown recluses out here

Understandable! Most of our spider population seems to hang out on the patio around back. No trees back there :-). And we will start raking this weekend, and eventually all of our deciduous trees lose their leaves over a couple of weeks. Thanks for the thoughtful warning!

The storm will pass offshore perhaps 60-80 miles. We will get some rain and wind, some local flooding, but nothing life threatening. My area of the state is well protected by the Gulf Stream and we rarely get a direct strike by a hurricane.
