Nope Obese is a medical term used to describe someone who is extremely overweight and who's body is in a unhealthy state.
As for the people who don't like being called obese well maybe they need to make better life choices then maybe they wouldn't be in that situation to begin with. But instead a lot of them would rather have a victim mentality and be lazy then put in the hard work to get and maintain a healthy body.
The word, "obese", is a medical term. I have not heard that word used as a slur, not that I am doubting you.
However, one question I would ask is, if we delete the medical term, what word should be used to replace it?
It describes a level on the BMI scale.
thanks for the MHO
What to use instead? Fat?
You could invent a new word for it, but eventually the same feelings of hurt would happen. You cannot alter the truth.
Thank you for MHG!
No, it's a medical term with a proper definition of a percentage over the standard recommendations for one's height, age, gender, etc.

Obese is a medical term used to descibe an extremely overweight person or a person with a BMI of 30 or over. It certainly is not an outdated term if anything it applies more then ever in this day and age.
No it is most definitely NOT a slur. Obese is merely the medical term for a person for whom 30% OR MORE of their body weight is constituted by fat.
I believe it is a medical term.
Sorry if that hurts your feelings, even if you say it doesn't.
Disagree, I totally against the fat acceptance movement lol they are all just hilarious
No. Obese is a word used to describe someone who is beyond overweight.
I'm short should I be offended by being described as short.
Obese can be a slur, but it's also a medical descriptor. It really depends on the context it's used in.
No.. And I think people should stop glorifying being fat... it's embarrassing and cringe...
I completely disagree
This is a term we use in BMI
no it's a medical term
Nope, it is an accurate description.
