Is it normal for a trainer to hold my hands?

Anonymous

While doing bench press he held both my hands firmly and complete the rep for me together. The weight was light so I didn't get it. I've been taking personal training for the past 4 months with my previous trainer who was female and she never helped me with my bench press like this. She just used to touch my elbows lightly to guide me or push the dumbells so I could complete a difficult rep.

I've been noticing that my new male trainer touches me quite often as compared to my female trainer. I'm still new to gyming so I don't know if it's normal to be touched like this by a male trainer. He also pushed my shoulders down during lat press with his hands, held my shoulders during bench press to correct my form etc. It also feels like he's flirting with me. He keeps smiling all the time with me and laughs at the smallest jokes I make (I do have a good sense of humor). He also does my stretching for me every time whether it be my legs, thighs etc. With my previous I used to do self stretching mostly she rarely assisted me.

My previous trainer (who has left the gym) and her best friend (both of whom are my new trainer's friends) recommended him to me greatly. They were like he's very professional, the most qualified at the gym and also that he's a no bullshit and serious kind of guy which actually I had also observed when he used to train his clients. But I'm seeing a completely different side of him with me.
