Definitely yes. Its probably harder to know what you are training at the moment, as this is never a problem with weight machines. Other than that it is in some situations even preferable, because you rarely train more than one specific muscle group with weight machines.
On the other hand being able to go jogging indoors can really be helpful when its raining or too cold or generally unfit weather for jogging outdoor.
So yes if you know what you are doing the training can be just as good or even better but I think there is much more you could do wrong and you have to know your exercises instead of just sitting down on a machine.
Most of what you can do at the gym can be done at home with floor exercises, dumbells/kettle bells, weight bar, running or a bike as long as you put in the time. Problem is most people don't have the space and in the gym you definitely do get a better workout. Even if you do have the space at home if you've a wife she will seek to fill that space with nik naks she saw in good house keeping like a decorative colonial spinning wheel, I mean unless she is going to start making clothes it's a big no. If you get a good gym that has the free weights, weight machine, racks, benches, cardio machines, swimming pool, sauna/steam room/jacuzzi/ice bath etc its well worth it if just to have somewhere to go in the morning and evening.
It depends on one's fitness goals and the specific "simple" floor exercises being referred to. For many people, floor exercises such as bodyweight workouts, yoga, or Pilates can be incredibly effective in improving strength, flexibility, and overall fitness. These exercises can be done at home, without the need for expensive gym memberships or equipment.
However, if your fitness goals include building significant muscle mass, heavy weight lifting, or specific sports training, a well-equipped gym might be more suitable to meet those needs. Additionally, gyms often provide access to personal trainers, group classes, and specialised equipment that can help you achieve your fitness goals more efficiently.
I think that depends on your goals. If your goal is to be fitter, more flexible or a bit stronger, floor exercises will be just fine. If your goal is to build muscle and get significantly stronger, you might be better off going to the gym🙃

Ideally you need a variety. But various types of calisthenics, body weight exercises, stretching, outdoor activities like jogging and cycling, are easily as good or better than a gym.
Gyms like we have today didn't even exist most of my life. Those gyms started springing up when all the yuppies were working long hours and had tons of disposable income. They needed a way to burn off energy, and they had the money to pay for luxuries like gyms.
Gyms are a poor alternative for getting a more natural workout.
Exercise is exercise & you don’t have to go to an expensive gym to exercise because you can always exercise at home or at a park or somewhere outdoors.
Couch Potato Workout!
Many times better. I checked with my local 24 Hour Fitness, for the cost of a 'new' membership annually, and the answer was 350.00 "something"
I take "hard yoga" three days a week, Mon-Wed-Fri, and sometimes Saturday and buy a 12 pack- 12 classes a month for 144.00 x 12 = 1728.00, which is over 1300. differential for the year. Many will say, 'that's insane"? I have a personal trainer, and have a set schedule, anytime I go and we do specific exercises, Strength, Balance, Flexibility, Range of motion. I never got that at 24 Hour, but I Imagine I could find that in a smaller, 'family' owned gym. AND have seen one at Huntington Harbor Mall, where I take my Yoga training. My Yoga people are very helpful to all of us, on a personal/professional level, and we have other 'outside' activities which included a tough, 5 mile hike in Laguna Hills, as a supplemental exercise.
Judge for yourself.
Yes, though a gym can serve as communitary motivation though, just like home schooling vs schooling. Watch for all the, "Errr, can I help you, feral?" just kidding. I learned Yoga at home, but a course was more immersive and instruction more constructive. I know people that only do Pilates at home you can bounce quarters off. Dont forget you keegols...
not sure about simple, but this works... just go out to your local building roofs and get to work...

Gyms are one of the biggest scams on the planet.
Thry aren't.
U can't get buff with normal exercises.
@wannabecuck-2 I would say “how you do it” is the key. And gyms are like all clubs, if it works for you great.
But look up yoga masters, they’re fckin buff. But I imagine body builders have to have free weights.
🙂bro i am an ex gymnast
U should do all. Everything has its importance. I preach that. I just hated that scam statement.
@wannabecuck-2 I guess you have never heard of riding bikes, swimming and home gym set-ups.
You must like throwing away your money.
🙂go ask a guy who hasn't run truathlons. I ve done all.
I run 3 miles daily in 20 mins thats the first thing i do in first hour of waking. . 1 work out 1 hr daily 10 mins streaching 20 mins running rest time is weights streaching and home. I say u need mix of everything. Ir not getting the point.
Of course, stay disciplined and consistent and with time you can also buy some small weight bells and so on
You can get a great physique only doing calisthenics. However, you need more than just body weight if you want to bulk up. So it just comes down to what your goals are.
No but you can get a good workout with just an inexpensive weight set and a few other things.
You have never needed to go to a gym, you can train everything either at home or out in nature.
My girl 'friend" installed a stripper pole because she's an ex stripper, and wanted it for exercise. She doesn't go to gyms. She thinks she's fat. She's not
It depends if you’re trying to be like the military and do a lot of calisthenics or you’re trying to be a bodybuilder or be real strong guy
Yes. Body weight exercises are better and more effective as using gym machines. Running outside is better for you than on a tredmill
I’m not spending money at the gym because I’m doing exercise at home and work
The DragonDoor Isochain on it's own is superior to a gym! Simple floor exercises with the right equipment can do the same, but you'd need lots of different stuff.
Only if you're committed
Tension on your muscles is tension regardless of the resistance. You’ll still need to find ways to progressive overload.
Not for me. I do best in a class.
Hey less clothes that are drenched in sweat that you gotta watch. If I work out alone I don’t do as good of a workout. I need an instructor and be in a class to push myself because I’m not gonna just leave in the middle of a class when I get tired.
Yea I can see how that would get weird. A cat would give that weird stare.
I know so because I did it that way.
They can be depending on the goals.
