Is signing up to a gym worth it and is it better to get like a personal trainer or just figure out which exercises you enjoy most and just do those?

It really depends on what you want out of it.
For the UK, there are a number of options
Gyms, all types and resources, depends on budget and how often you use it, look at it as price per session, rather than per year.
Personal Trainers, greatly depends on what space you have a home for them to do stuff with you.
there are Bootcamp outfits such as https://www.bcuk.uk current offer on.
Then there are running clubs, which is pretty much out running most days of the week, decent ones cover all abilities,
Swimming, yoga, Pilates etc all come into it.
Also look at Dance, as thatβs popular and is body fitness if you put effort in.
A starter session with a personal trainer, private or at gym, will give you an idea on what exercises they recommend.
greatly depends on budget as you can easily hit silly money.
Thanks for MHG
You need more sun than exercise, kiddo.
Just go for jogs every morning and eat better quality food.
Goto the gym when you have some meat on dem bones to work with.
But lets be honest. you just want to go to gym to make tiktok videos, right?
That's not the main reason! π
If you can afford it, get a personal trainer. If not, you donβt need the PT every time, but you can have them do an evaluation, and a schedule for increasing your exercise. Periodic re-evaluations should be done but if you cannot afford it every time, something like I described above is fine. If you can afford a personal trainer every time, you will definitely see a marked improvement in your weight loss, or muscle definition or whatever it is you desire. I recently went on a cruise, and gained a LOT of weight, so now Iβm back at the gym 4 days a week with a personal trainer to loose the weight, but I donβt want a lot of muscle definition (except for my abs). The personal trainer is the person who can craft a personal workout regimen specifically for my needs.
If you choose to get a trainer, it should be to learn how to use the equipment or after youβve exercised alone for several months so that you can better communicate what you need and want from a work out, cause if you donβt have your own agenda, you have to accept whatever they give you, and you might not like it. I find a lot of my friends will teach me basic skills simply because weβre friends, so I would use the trainer for the hard questions.

If youβre not sure how to build an exercise program that will help you achieve your goals, you can either figure it out yourself or hire a personal trainer. Just make sure that the personal trainer knows their sh*t and isnβt just giving you info you can easily Google. They should help you build a program specifically tailored for youβafter all, youβre paying for expertise and personalization.
Is having a gym membership worth it? I think so. If youβre regularly using their equipment multiple times a week, I think itβs worth the investment to have everything you need in one place.
If you want to self-educate, I highly recommend the YouTube channel, Mind Pump. Theyβre basically a group of experienced personal trainers that educate newer personal trainers as well as fitness enthusiasts in general. 🤙
A gym is only worth it if you use it minimum 3 times a week. It's better to have a trainer - or at least to setup with one. Don't stick to exercise you like - you'll miss areas. At the start some exercise is downright unpleasant until your body gets used to it.
Certain muscle groups get almost no exercise in modern life - leg curls to strengthen the back of the legs for example. Consequently to begin with they're bloody painful. A good trainer can help you push through to the point where the circuit actually makes a difference. At least to start with.
As someone looking in to getting my personal trainers certificate I would say that a gym membership is a great place to start. Really though it all depend on your drive and motivation. And as for getting a personal trainer⦠that ALL depends on what you want to happen. Literally motivation is key at that point because you are spending the money for it.
If someone isn't self motivated (doesn't need a trainer) then they likely won't stay fit for long.
It is better to just get some exercise equipment for at home if you have the space for it. I'd recommend a stationary bike and a set of dumbbells. Then look online on YouTube to find different exercises that you may be interested in. Try AthleanX on YouTube.
"Worth it" in what way? If you want work out equipment and don't have any, and can go regularly, a membership can be well worth it as far as justifying the expense. But you can also get exercise other ways for free, like walking etc. A personal trainer is even more money though I think? I don't think they are necessarily really unless you have very serious fitness goals you want to achieve. Or, to show you how to use the equipment properly (many don't use them the correct way). You can stick to exericeses you like sure, but it is good to switch them up often as your body does become accustomed to it, and sometimes your results can "plateau"
I'll personally train you... really hard. But my real answer is to just buy a weight cage and do it yourself. Just youtube the shit you don't know. We live in easy mode nowadays.
Pm me?
Getting a membership for a gym is a great thing. I don't use (or pay for) personal trainers. My schedule varies, and some days I just can't make it to the gym. So I don't want to be tied to a strict schedule. I just go and do whatever I'm in the mood for. Lifting or cardio
For starters, you donβt need a trainer to be beautiful! You have a rocking body!!!
Second, just do whatever physical activity you enjoy unless you have a specific goal in mind and then sure, hire a trainer or watch YouTube videosβ¦
Thank you β€οΈ
You are quite welcome
If you have the space for some stuff for exercises home is better j would say as it's cheaper and don't have to travel but depends as well done gyms will give access to pools and classes so it depends I'd that interests you.
I do have a gym membership but can't bring myself to go right now. But I do really want to.
If you desire to stay in shape and healthy, then yes. Personal trainers are only necessary if you need guidance on how to get the progress you desire in terms of nutrition, exercise and workout creation.
It's better to get a professional to tell you how to do exercises properly rather than "figuring them out" yourself. It's just that there's a greater chance that you'll actually do harm to yourself by doing an exercise wrong than gaining benefit.
You definitely can if you think you'll be consistent. I personally chose not too and opted to buy a bunch of exercise equipment for the same price as an annual gym membership. I can work out whenever I want, no people, and I save money in the long term.
If you get the right personal trainer they will support you in the exercise you like
Generally people find the exercises they like at a gym
Weight training is easier when a member of a gym, but there all types of programs for exercise too.
The exercises you "enjoy" aren't necessarily the exercises you need most to do. You don't often have to join the gym in order to get the lessons themselves, but you may not be able to do them without the gym's equipment. Is it worth it? I think so, but you have to find the right trainer.
Planet Fitness is pretty cheap, anywhere from $10-12 a month, so that shouldn't be a burden. Getting the right trainer makes all the difference.
Yes hit some gym and get that outstanding body shape. I thought you get into gym lol! that back pack if it's Natural, then you're good to start. You will get more curves. But don't forget to train your legs and thighs too.
A gym membership can be worth it to add new workouts to your routine that you can't do at home, but you should try and get your money's worth if you do. Working out on your own can work if you can see that you are making progress.
Hire a personal trainer once, learn all the basics from them, then do them yourself.
Personally I never like anyone telling me what to do, let's not even mention paying someone to tell me what to do, but the gym is good if you wanna get built and I guess it's never something that wouldn't be worth it
Yea sign up for a gym no one really needs a personal training push yourself and do it on your own sign up as long as you use it don't pay for it for no reason👍🏼
It depends if you actually go and workout. Some gyms like to sell memberships with the intention that most people won't actually workout after the first couple of weeks.
To me a personal trainer is just somebody you pay to work out with you.
I have a trainer and she gave me great motivation and ways of pushing through workouts that may be tough. I have self-motivation too that was boosted by her. It's up to you, it does get tough keeping the consistency going.
If you are new then definitely get a personal trainer. You will see more progress faster then trying to figure things out on your own. A gym membership is worth its weight in gold !
I think floor exercises are best. Usually there is enough space to do it. It is worthwhile to have a class you can go to. Not necessarily a one on one trainer.
I know a lot about training I can make you a workout plan
Yes please!
I'm not certified but my body is evidence that whatever I do works. And you won't have to pay money if you hire me.
Really you don't need one, you could get educated just as efficiently from a wise boyfriend.
Get your upper body to a point you can comfortably do dips safely and you won't regret it.
Oh ok, any workouts you suggest?
In my case I tend to do a hail marry hell ish workout XD
70 normal pushup reps
70 to 120 decline push ups reps
Bicep curls start at 5 and keep rolling up till I get near 50lbs dumbells. doing 5 to 10 reps per set 3 sets. With Each arm of dumbells
Then I typically take the 27 lbs do flies and triceps kickbacks.
I typically finish the work out with finger tip pullups till I'm sweaty and cold XD
Try not to take too many long breaks as you can end up doing a little cardio as well. Plus your muscles don't have the time to build up lactic acid.
If you look on Internet you won't need a gym too. You can maintain your body at home. That's what I do.
Do u alrdy train? Cuz u alrdy seem to have thick nd toned legs nd somewhat hourglass shape
Joining is worth it if you have the motivation to go. Most places at least have someone that can shiw you the right way to use the machines. If you aren't familiar ask... or you'll accomplish little other than possibly hurting yourself.
You should join my gym. It's in my bedroom and features vigorous mouth and throat exercises 😍
Oh god π
Getting into your own gym at home would save you money and training to help other people would be your best bet.
You donβt need a personal trainer at the gym they are not worth it all they do is train for cardio not really muscle strength conditioning or to put muscle on they are a joke to me
It depends on your goal. A personal trainer can give you a range of exercises to do in a single meeting, and if you stick with it, you'll have your desired results.
dont pay money for pt. Be with him and now he is free for you 😁 if you dont want to any boyfriend, just do it fullbody 1 year. It helps to you to grow.
What does this picture have to do with the question tho?
These are the order you should try.
1. Do it yourself
2. Go to a gym
3. get a personal trainer
Who cares. Take a few more photos of yourself to add to the other 50000 you already have.
Excuse me?
Youβre obviously someone who gets their self-esteem from pictures of themself. π€·ββοΈ You could easily have asked this question without including a pic of yourself...
... but you did.
So youβre just looking for validation from others through pictures. I mean if that makes you happy go for it. Like I said, take some more photos of yourself to add to the others. Itβs soooo interesting.
Idiot
Gyms are worth it, IF you commit to one. Otherwise they are a waste of money.
Maybe try working out at home to see if you enjoy it first.
I personally work out at home and do runs around my neighborhood
Nah donβt waste ur money like that
i can do an even better excercise routine on ur own
If you let me smell your butt after each workout I'll be your assistant and carry all your towels and stuff lol
if you are paying for phone or internet i would just do your own research instead of forking out extra money for a trainer
You look like a trainer...
Lol thanks, but I wish
Bye bye planned parenthood. 🥳🥳🥳🥳
What?
Signing up for a gym is silly, to me.
It's all worth it and so is your commitment
For the sake of gas money I say the second one
That's a great pic
Look up Athlean-xx
I'd say both.
no lol
wow look at that ass
