Is it possible that I could’ve had a early miscarriage without even knowing?

(This is a bit TMI but I’m curious) I’m only 18 years old, but my boyfriend and I are very much sexually active. I had never taken a pregnancy test or even thought that I could potentially even be pregnant, because I noticed I started bleeding & spotting about 2 weeks prior to when my period was supposed to come, so I just thought I had a really early period. However, the bleeding wasn’t like a regular period, it was more spotty and discharge-like, it also lasted for longer than my average period usually lasts. Yesterday I went pee and I noticed there was something that came out of me, which wasn’t from my period because it was like a small piece of skin, it looked like a chunk of something and I knew it wasn’t from my period because I had never had that happen to me before. I’m wondering if it’s possible that was an early miscarriage that I didn’t know about? Or I’m just a fool jumping to dumb conclusions lol.
