My boy cat got into a fight with another cat outside and he had a scratch that became infected. He yelled out a very loud scream and a raced him to the Vet. When the vet took his temperature, it went all the way past 107°!!
He was put on some strong antibiotics and maybe something for pain. Vet said to isolate him in another room away from the other cats for a week or so. No going outside. I had to keep his food and water separate, and cat box too.
I would consider this urgent because of what happened to my kitty cat.😺

Look at his life counter whether there stands an 8 instead of 9.

Does he eat? does he walk without problems? does he sleep entire day? (more than cats usually do)

Does your critter go outside? Odds are it was a catfight (has anyone ever heard those in the dead of night in their suburban neighborhood?)

yah, mine do too, and tomcats get into scrapes. Then again, I find my female cats fight with each other a lot too?
