Would you say something if you noticed someone had smelly feet? Would it bother you?

Sometimes I wear these Nike flip-flops and they make my feet smell like malt vinegar. I shower every day and I try to keep my feet clean, but when I wear these flip-flops,, my feet always get stinky. One day I was at my friend's house and I was wearing them, and she told me that my feet stink and laughed and said it was OK. Do you think she was just trying to be nice? Would it bother you if noticed the smell of their feet?

You have to keep more than your feet clean, sweety. You also have to clean your flip-flops. You don't have to throw them out just because they smell. I'm assuming they are Nike rubber slides. Those are literally shower shoes and are super easy to clean. Just grab a rag, scrub the part you place your feet with hot water and laundry detergent, and dry it thoroughly with another rag. It doesn't take long at all. Rubber sandals, especially when worn all day with no socks, can really make your feet smell because rubber can't absorb the sweat that your feet produce. Thus, that sweat is only going to dry up eventually and stick to your slides if you don't clean them, thereby making your feet smell every time you wear them. Thus, if you're going to be wearing them without socks, I strongly recommend scrubbing them daily to keep them clean and keep your feet smelling fresh. If you wear them with clean socks instead, you can do this weekly instead of daily. To answer your questions though, as to whether I would say something if somebody's feet stank, it depends on who it is and where I'm at. For instance, when at the mall in shoe stores, sometimes I can smell feet when people try on shoes. In that instance, I don't say anything. Some people are crazy and I don't try to start any drama that is otherwise avoidable. Instead, I just leave the area to avoid the smell. If it's one of my friends or family members, I would definitely say something because it helps them to know. However, if I was in your friend's situation, I wouldn't be laughing and tell you that it's ok. I would be giving you tips on better hygiene like I just did in this answer.

My feet tend to get a bad odor too. It's genetic.

You might want to try an antiperspirant, to avoid sweating and bacteria. Or throw out the flipflops. They might be infested with bacteria and making your feet smell.

Yes! If you know you are offending other people by the smell eminating from your stinky flip flops, then don't wear them anymore.
