It is real but over diagnosed now. My brother has it and he has never been on meds, he is exhausting to me! You wake up on vacation and he needs to get ready and go out otherwise he gets mentally unwell. My best friend is also the same (so much I diagnosed her and sent her to the doctors) she was given pills to calm down and see what would happen and for the first time in 30 years sat on the couch with a coffee pondering life after she took one. The drugs are not usually required though, since then she controls her diet and emotions better and manages her brain, my brother I think struggles as he never got help properly like she has. It all felt like evil magic to him and so he gives into his ADHD tendencies. Some people want to be one way and will work at it while others want to simply be themselves. People should be given this option before drugs are handed out and dependencies occur.

Its not a desease, its a permanent imbalance of neurotransmitters and receptors.

It is definitely real but it's understandable how many don't believe that is real if they have never been around someone who had adhd
