I need suggestions... on how to get my voice back faster?

I'd rather ask here, instead of a search engine. Seen an urgent care NP at my home, on Friday-30th. He said, I have laryngitis. He asked, what have I taken for it, He couldn't hear me speak, anyway, I repeated myself, coffee in the morning because the heat feels good to my throat. He said to keep drinking the hot coffee. He also told me to take an allergy pill, Not finding relief-- makes me to zombie, so I stopped. I started losing my voice completly over a week ago.

Another thing is, I told him, that I think I know, How I got it. Crying so much. (I didn't say this next thing)... 'didn't want to talk much'... but, i vent, am a real goof, sing etc.

That's making the laryngitis only lingering, so just don't know what am suppose to do.

Hot tea, chicken soup, honey (use it in the tea, too), cough drops (Luden's or Smith Brothers. Halls only makes it worse.), no talking.

I consider you my on-line friend. So I'm going to give you the truth that worked for me when I had a really bad case of laryngitis.

Go out in your yard and pick some fresh cloverleaf (aka Chamomile tea) boil it. You can use Honey to sweeten it

You can also use neetles (aka itchweed aka burning bush) this plant is great for dealing with pain

Another good plant is Dandelions

You can eat the root, the leaves and the yellow flower

Antibiotics such as Amoxicillin might help, but I would try the Green Tea or some other home remedies. Summer is good for fan coughs/ AC that can cause that to us. :) Wish you the best !!!

oh, i forgot to say in post, that, I did mention to him... i stated using a moth rince/gargle and ever since that, i was diagnosed with strep throat inmay, my throat may hurt from that, he said no. then i forgot to say thisin post, itold him, i use a fan with ac, a fan in front of me while i sleep, so maybe the fan is hurting my throat, he said no. i was uncomfortable in my home with him here, he wasn't very nice

@SandandWaves Yes, some Nurse Practitioners can really be sarcastic, and we wonder where they get their license to practice medicine. I hate to say this, but I love Women doctors and Women NP I've been going to a local practice in my area going on 10 years and never had one bad moment and one thing Women have a nurturing side and I had one Male doctor who had to leave this practice, and he was an awesome doctor, but he said, he was moving closer to where he lived I hope you feel better.

When I had laryngitis, nothing I done got my voice back faster. I legit had to wait an entire week for it to come back.

Try and rest your voice as much as possible. Try not to talk unless it is absolutely necessary. This was the advice I was given when I had laryngitis
Although for me it took a week for my voice to come back, this does not mean your voice won't come back faster.

Honey helps. It really depends on WHY you are losing your voice though.

if you have strep…then you’ll need antibiotics

Laryngitis is seldom a standalone condition. It usually is accompanied by something else.

@andres77... I mentioned to him, I just was diagnosed with strep in may the 12th I got seen, with a 106 fever, he ignored it

I gave had this before. As far as I know there is no way to speed up the process. The weird thing was that as I felt better, my voice kept getting worse. I guess all you can do is enjoy the silence. IT will be OK in a couple of days.
