Tomorrow I’m going to run a marathon length type of run/jog. Im in decent shape but I want to see if I can handle it since today I almost went 8 miles in 2 hours which for me is pretty good since I’ve never done that before and I was walking the whole time. If I’m getting burnt out I’ll go a half marathon. But what do you recommend for preparation. Im pretty confident I’ll be able to do it since I’ve got all day so not much pressure to finish before a certain time

Prep for a marathon takes literally months. While your 8 miles today is commendable I don't recommend doing a marathon tomorrow. At the pace you went today you'd finish in 7 hours. But I'm not sure you'd make it.
If you really want to prep for it, google marathon prep and do that.
Ahh I get that. Yeah it would be tough to get through it with like no training or preparation. Especially since it’s 23 miles I believe. I could try a half marathon which is 13 miles it’s only 5 more miles so I’ll try that but thanks tho

Marathon is 26.2 miles. Half-marathon is 13.1.
