That is basically what a doctor has to do with an impacted colon. But I wouldn't try it myself. You can puncture a hole in your bowel. Then it could get septic and you could die. If enemas and stool softeners don't work you may have no other choice but go to a doctor. If you don't have regular bowel movements it could be constipation. When that happens if you take in but don't put out, you can get an impacted colon.

If you have fecal impaction the last thing you want to do is dig it out yourself. It can be done BUT it is best to let a doctor to do it because you can cause microscopic tears in the sphincter muscle.

I have logs that break before I squeeze them out entirely. I often spend forever on the toilet trying to squeeze out the rest. If that doesn't work then, yeah, I try to just shake it out (but that's a pain too sometimes because I find that the shit can get on my balls, since they kind of dangle in the toilet).

impacted/ dry hard stools are from constipation or not enough fluids. to be honest if you can get it out do so. if you can't get mineral oil to drink that will more or less have poop come behind it and force it out. laxatives aren't as good but you can try those and make sure to drink water. you want to get that out- if you can't go to the ER
